Wich is stop n shop.. just pass Lamberts now
At one time Stop & Shop owned Bradlee's. It was really common in the old days to see them next to each other, as it was in a town near me. When S&S sold Bradlees they kept some and converted them into S&S. Once Wal*Mart came to the region all those smaller local/regional chains got wiped out.

Yes I remember. I grew up near the location in Roslindale. Where the Bradlee store was connected to it. Oh yes Walmart changed everything. I think the first Walmart i remember going to was on Rt. 1 walpole.

Bob's Surplus started up in CT in the 1970's and they were famous for selling their branded tee-shirts for $1. Me and my friends joked if we were ever down on our luck we could have a complete wardrobe by going to Bob's and spending $7 on a different shirt for every day of the week, since the shirts were different colors.

It reminds me of when I was going to college and my mom gave me four new sets of jeans as a gift, but they were the wrong size. I brought them back to Bob's and when I was doing the exchange the teller said "Ok, Mr. Lee, here's your $20". I said, waaah? She said they were now on sale and they honored the sale price. I said to myself oh-boy I scored! Back then $20 was several nights of drinking money! Of course that's what it ended up being spent on. Sorry, Mom, I thought about giving you back the money, but after thinking about it some more I considered it part of the gift!

According to the link below a six pack of beer cost $3.42 in 1980 which is when I started college. I definitely remember buying cases of beer for $10 or less on sale. There would be a big debate of quality vs quantity though. I remember buying lots of Canadian beer such as Molson or Labatt's for $11.99 a case. The liquor store on the edge of campus always had stuff in that price range. I remember one of the neighborhood dive bars sold mugs of beer for $0.50 in the late 70s and nicer joints selling pitchers of beer for $3.

50 cents, highway robbery, a place in Oxford Ma had them on Monday nights for 25 cents, I had Tuesday off from class so went there a lot on Monday, the beer wasn't, good but spent a lot of time in the toilet Tues mornings.

No Pats gear here in Orlando sadly. No Fish either not that I’d buy it. This place has always been weird with pro football. Probably because no pro team here. Then again things weren’t much different with the World League Orlando Thunder back in the 90s. College ball and soccer seem to be big.

I suppose, but fifty cents was its normal price, no waiting for Monday Nights. It was Miller High Life, not the Lite stuff. It too made for many awful headaches and major digestive distress the next day if you had hit it hard. Two summers in a row during high school I worked 2:30 to 11pm then went to the bar after work most nights. No need to get up the next morning so we did our best to sleep off our hangovers before heading to work the next day. Note that first summer I was sixteen. No one at that particular bar cared. No need to worry about DUIs, none of us had cars or even licenses. Funny thing was once it was time to back to school we just stopped going to the bar. I guess we were cut a lot of slack during the summer but when the summer was over it was time to hit the books again.

Another place near me in my college years had $3 pitchers and $3 plates of clams (steamers or raw on the half shell) every Monday night. Had an old Italian guy in the corner cutting open the clams. He was like a machine all night long. Me and a friend would take turns buying rounds of each till closing time.

At the dorms we used to get the Genessee bear balls, kegs were prohibited but beer balls were ok, it was terrible beer, but we were on a budget. I would have loved the place with the clams, I like them steamed or raw, where was that?

I like to look at the clearance section of the Patriots Pro Shop from time to time. Right now there is plenty of Mac Jones gear, as would be expected, but most of it is still ridiculously high priced.

$9.99 for a Mac Jones 2023 calendar? Why?
I tried to get a Mac Jones calendar at Family Dollar but got elbowed out of the way by Tom Werner and John Henry who were arguing over whether the calendar could pitch long relief. Werner was bragging about how much he paid for his suit at Building #19 and three-eighths on Route 9 in Natick. Let's Go Red Sox.......

Lol.... I have to admit that I can distictly remember buying a blue suit coat at Building 19? in Natick back in the early eighties.

The place was called Mayo's in Middlebury CT, now Maggie McFly's is in the same building. The same Italian guy who cut the clams would show up at various 'clam night' events all around the area.

Do they come with sleeves?
