If you have a Family Dollar outlet locally here in Mass., might be worth checking out. I went into the Ayer store yesterday for laundry detergent, came out with an extra-large Patriots throw pillow ($7) plus two Pats knit scarves ($2.50 and $5). My wife wasn't even mad (I DID get the detergent and gave her one of the scarves).

They had other Patriots logo stuff -- blankets, slippers, etc. Quality is good. Doesn't appear to be advertised or available online so you have to make an appearance.

I don't know if this is just a seasonal inventory reduction thing or sign of the times, but I've always been a sucker for bargains.

Family Dollars down here in Florida started going out of business. They had a 50% off everything sale until they cleared their inventory and then shut down.

Any Brissett gear?

Cue the......................

The funny thing is that type of store should thrive here in Florida, given the low wages in the state.

In my area they were oversaturated. Granted many of the stores are situated for those in low-income areas to be able to walk to, but in an area near my work where there are three stores within a two-to-five minute drive from each other.

According to the interwebz they are closing 600 stores this year and about 400 more over the next couple of years, as leases run out.

Weird when I think of cheap I think of Florida. Weird it is failing down there.

I like to look at the clearance section of the Patriots Pro Shop from time to time. Right now there is plenty of Mac Jones gear, as would be expected, but most of it is still ridiculously high priced.

$9.99 for a Mac Jones 2023 calendar? Why?

The Pro Shop used to have really good deals online until Fanatics moved in with their cheap crap.

From what I have read that customer base is either shopping at Walmart, Sav-a-Lot or Dollar General. There seems to me to be more Dollar Generals in the less populated areas, where there are fewer choices for those customers - which would result in more sales for those Dollar Generals due to less competition.

On the other hand there are lots of Family Dollars in the higher populted cities and towns, where customers have more choices on where to shop; ie, more competition. May be a situation of mis-management and poor planning at the executive level.

So very true. Used to be able to find phenomenal values in their bargain section.

I'm only seeing a couple of "clearance" deals worthy of consideration; both with free shipping.
- $6.99 for a BlueRay/DVD of Super Bowl LII
- $4.99 for "The Dynasty" book by Jeff Benedict, though anybody that was interested in the book probably already watched the series on Apple+. Still, it is much less than prices on Amazon.

Edit: When you go to order with "free shipping", there is a "handling charge" added to the order, which is more than half the price of the product, and just coincidentally is about equal to the cost of shipping.

Fanatics really just makes everything worse. They have monopolized the sports apparel world and just mass produce screen printed junk that looks and feels cheaper than all the Chinese knockoffs. I used to get so much stuff on the old Pro Shop site and not even just player stuff who were no longer on the team. I always bought a hat and a shirt for every Super Bowl win but usually after waiting a couple months you could get all the other stuff like hoodies, cups, etc for super cheap.

It's hard to find info on NFL merchandise sales. But from what I could find, the Pats are still among the top teams in sales.

By the way, I did a Google maps of where this place is and it's interesting how different things look on the east coast. It's unusual to have businesses right next door to homes where I live in Southern CA.
