Personally, left tackle is the one position I am most interested in watching develop in training camp, preseseason and early season games. All the media focus will be on QB, but to me that is more of a longer-range development. What I want to see over the next four months is the competition at LT between Okorafor, Wallace, Anderson and the rest of that group. Keep David Bakhtiari on speed dial in case none quickly stand out witha positive impression.

With their 3rd Round pick, the Patriots selected Caedan Wallace after there was a run on tackles earlier. Most draftniks believe that the team reached for Wallace as he only played right tackle at Penn State.
The team signed former Pittsburgh Steeler right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor during free agency. He’s been a long-term starter in the NFL, but only at right tackle. Most have this competition as a choice between the two, but the forgotten man may be Calvin Anderson.
Remember, the Patriots gave Anderson a good contract to come to New England from Denver to play left tackle. Then, just prior to training camp, Anderson caught malaria on a trip to Africa and, at the time of his diagnosis, was only given a 50/50 chance to survive.
Anderson had some starts for Denver at left tackle in 2022. Now fully healthy, he’s ready to compete again. I wouldn’t write off his chances of winning the left tackle job.

No, he's been here since I believe 2012, might even be a little earlier than that. I used to read him on a small local publication in Massachusetts way back when. I did a daily links column for quite a few years going back to the early 2000s (I eventually stopped because it was a lot to keep up with) and would see a column by him pretty frequently. I got to know him via Twitter and then emailed him and we've been friends ever since.

The best scenario is Calvin Anderson, fully healthy and bigger and stronger than he’s ever been, starting at LT. Okorafor can be the backup and starting RT—if he beats out Wallace.

But the team is on very thin ice at this position and may need to reach outside the organization for help.

RT two seasons ago. Remember? Keep McDermott on the speed dial. Player not coach.

We will NOT have an issue at RT for this season. Onwenu is our RT. HOPEFULLY, in 2024, Wallace will be a starter at RT, with Onwenu starting at RG, and Sow at LG, and a top FA or draft choice starting at LT.

The issues for this year are at LT (Anderson, Okorafor or Wallace) and at RG (Leverett, Mafi or Robinson).
