It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Getting D involved in the attack really put a ton of pressure on FLA. 4 points on 10 shots is not too shabby.Boston's D more than held up against FL's forecheck. Bruins transitioned well and won the battle of the boards, that and stellar goaltending made for the winning formula.
Bobrovsky looked fairly pedestrian, that's gotta concern FL a bit. That's 5 losses to the B's in a row for the Panthers

Defensemen seemed as though they dropped down more in this one game against FL than in the 7 game series against the Leafs. How much of that was because of a concern with Toronto's team speed making them play tight versus confidence in their ability to recover against a bigger more deliberate Panthers offense only they know. Regardless, it was good to see. Outside of between the pipes the B's strength is their D, they'll have to continue to play the whole sheet for Boston to win the series.
I think Griz is gone too.Lohrei continues to impress, making it all the more likely Grzelcyk will be elsewhere next year. Griz has played his heart out for Boston but he is who he is. He just doesn't have the size to hold up against better teams in the playoffs. He'll be looking for a $4.5-5M contract. As a % of the cap that's probably not an amount the B's are comfortable paying for a regular season defenseman.
I find it interesting FLA is 31st in blocked shots per game. They don't like to get in front of the puck. Keep peppering Bob..
Agree. For instance FLA is 29th in % of shots allowed per game which are actual scoring chances. A blocked shot reduces the # of scoring chances but so does what you mention. And yet according to NHL official stats FL allows on average 4.5 less SOG per game than Boston and they were tied with Winnipeg for fewest goals allowed this past season. The correlation between blocked shots and fewer goals allowed just isn't there, not just this year either. Year after year it's one of those counterintuitive stat situations. I think it can largely be explained by coaching and team maturity. For instance the Bruins are usually in the top 10 for shots allowed but the bottom ten for giving up high danger chances. That speaks to their ability to contain net front traffic and slot damage better than most. The B's do a decent job of keeping things to the outside, giving their goaltenders better sight lines and more time to react.
I do agree about peppering Bob. His confidence against Boston appears a bit shaky and making a goalie who may be fighting it a bit handle more rubber is never a bad thing
uuuhhhmmmMarchand made so many plays that were not goals but huge nonetheless.
Like knocking that puck out of the air with his stick disrupting a FLA pass and blocking in front of the FLA net on a goal. I was not impressed with Bobrovsky at all. Dude is like an octopus constantly falling down and sprawling all over the ice.
I dont get FLA pulling the goalie down 4 - 1. Its practically a 99% likelihood that Boston would score an empty net goal.
uuuhhhmmm
2 goals with the empty net in the last 1:30 of the game

Here's the other side of the coin:Exactly! Point well taken, after all only a pink hat sweats giving up an empty netter. WTF difference does it make if you lose a playoff game by 4 goals rather than 3? It's always funny this time of year to see the folks that don't know jack about hockey show up to illustrate their ignorance
"You've played 50 minutes of hockey, you've scored once. Do you think you're gonna get three in four minutes?"
