It's an A today. He will be labeled a bust the first time he overthrows an open WR in camp.

He needs reps, thousands of them AND I hope we see him working with a mechanics specialist like I saw Williams doing on an ESPN piece.

It was a very interesting clip with the Dr of physiology working with the QB's to maximize each of the QB's throwing motion. What' was cool that he understood that everyone's throwing motion is different and each QB's workout was built to HIS specific mechanics


BTW Mac was in the class as well working add zip to his throws

It's an A before he plays a down, just like Mac Jones was when he was drafted. Hopefully the front office helps Maye a lot more than Bill "helped" Jones with Matty P and getting rid of good players (Meyers, and others).
If he's an "A" in 4 years and gets a second contract, I'll be ecstatic. Until that happens, we're on to Cincy kind of attitude...

Let's say they pick up an extra 3rd round pick to move down and didn't get their top choice...

All the teams at the bottom of the league need QB’s. You can’t build around a missing QB and then hope one grows on your porch. You take the best QB available when you’re in this situation. Patriots incredibly lucky there were three really high potential ones at the top of this draft.
Next five years they can build around him.

I gave a ‘C’ grade. Maye is a mid round first round talent. So we overdrafted. The hype train can be ignored. Michael Penix and Bo Nix will do better than a lot of you think. Better than Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels.

No, trading down and getting an OT should have been the priority.

A. It's who I wanted all year long when the season was going in the ****ter so I am extremely happy.

Is he perfect? No. But he's got the highest ceiling and if they develop him, we have our QB of the future for the next 15 years.

People are comparing him to Josh Allen or Herbert. I see him having more shades of Aaron Rodgers (throwing on the run, etc without the crackpot thinking).

The general consensus was that choosing a QB was dependent on the teams confidence in the player. Let's hope there was more reaction in the room for this pick than 'do you agree' Mac.

The Chargers have a QB. We didn't. If we traded down the most value was trading with Vikings. At 11 Alt and Latham are gone. Fashanu is really good, but you basically just missed getting a high value pick.

If we are being honest, Maye is likely sitting this year and I have zero problem with that.

This was never going to be a one year fix. We were in position to get a QB, 6 were taken in the first 12 picks, we got the best one we possibly could. We now have a year to develop him and build more before letting him loose. If we didn't get him and got a lineman, we are likely rolling with Brissett anyways with a bit better of a line, but spending all next year worrying about whether we can find a QB in the draft
