Bill gets called a cheater all the time in the national media. Sports radio etc
It would be nice to hear him defend himself re spygate. But you are probably right that he doesn't give a ****.
Yeah, we've talked about that. I'm on to the Nebraska clinic.

We don't know what's on the cutting room floor, but I feel pretty confident that Bill or Ernie did not bring any new info or shed any light. They've said their piece, and they are moving on.

I don't think we can appreciate how important Ernie was to the team and to Bill. IMO, Ernie was Oz, pulling levers and pushing buttons behind the scenes, and Bill was the face of it. Not to discount Bill, but Ernie deserves way more credit for the success of the team and for Bill's success. I don't think it's a coincidence that Bill struggled after Ernie's departure in 2020.
Not to spoil since it looks like you haven't watched it, but Ernie had a way surprisingly more crucial role in that 1st SB win than I ever would've thought.

I am a little disappointed that after two and most of a third episode on the 2001 season, they literally spend five minutes on the 2003 and 2004 season combined. They spent more time on the 1996 season than they did on those two dynasty season.

For the most part, the 2001 season coverage was really good, but I don’t know you totally gloss over two of the seasons that made the Patriots a dynasty.
I watched an interview with the guy who wrote the book (he is behind this project) and he said the series main focus was the big decisions that made the dynasty. Not the routine stuff.

That's just saying they wanted to focus more on the dirt as that's what gets eye balls (I.e. the Brady/Drew decision, spygate, deflate gate, Brady/Bill relationship going to ****...).

So expect last 2 or 3 episodes just to be Bill vs. Tom and poor helpless Kraft just trying to "keep it" together for as long as possible."

I'd say Panthers Super Bowl and 2004 week 1 vs. the Colts. That Colts game he balled out. Rewatch it, maybe you'll agree. It's on Youtube.
Let me get this straight. You did not think a SB winning QB in his 1st year starting was not special till he made it to his second SB in 3 years and won it? And you needed another game to confirm it after winning the 2nd SB for good measure?

Brady was in his second year when he won the Super Bowl.

Did they finish covering 2007? Don't want to start watching till 2014 is covered. Don't want to stop at 2007 for a week lol.

I've seen the first two, I will catch the next two Sunday.

Smart decision my balls still hurt if you can wait at least one more week if not 2.

Surprised Mike Martz agreed to be in this. Great seeing how salty he still is over the loss.

He made me laugh when he talked about looking at the color scheme in the stadium because of the post 9/11.

But honestly, no matter what Ernie and Bill say, it will not change anybody's minds. The ones who believe the Patriots were cheaters will not give anything on what the two of them say. Jimmy Johnson went on record to deride this, Bill Cowher publicly said he doesn't give anything on Spygate. Didn't change anything.

I think I'm out on this. These last 2 episodes it's clear it's a "For Your Consideration" for Tugjob Bobby to get into the HOF and a Bill hit piece . Spent more time on Kraft calling Bill a schmuck and him saying he shielded Bill than it did the '03-'04 SBs. I'm also gonna predict for Defamegate Kraft's gonna say Bill didn't stand up for the team or Tommy like the team and Tommy stood up for him being a schmuck on camerainwrongplace gate. Wild how they skipped Mangina getting caught filming the playoff game the season before.

The end of episode 4 really drove it into me, got Strahan saying the devil and it ending with Belichick smirking. Like come on can't get anymore on the nose than that.

Another thing there was rumors about Bill getting fired after the Germany game if they didn't win and dropped to 2-8. The announcement of this series came out 4 days after that Germany game. I think Bill was told he wasn't gonna be back but would finish out the season and then Kraft greenlit the documentary to be announced.

Wonder if they'll have anything on Bobby get his happy ending by a sex trafficking massage palor. Probably not but i'm sure they'll spend a good amount of time saying how Bill was warned about Hernandez , right.

Somewhat annoying to make back to back super bowls a footnote to get to the controversy but whatever I guess we all know the story anyways.

Exactly. We knew this was gonna be heavy about the drama but for sanity sake don't just skip over the good stuff to get there.

Just finished 3 and 4. Just found out an old friend was very very involved in the making of this - As in the name pops up within the 1st 30 seconds of the credits, so I'm now officially biased - take my comments with a grain of salt. So far I think this has been very well done, saying this as someone whose Super Bowl DVDs have been worn out from all the playtime.

That being said, when this was called The Dynasty, my immediate thought was Linda Evans and Joanne Collins, and watching the drama / soap opera with my Mom back in the 80s, so I wasn't expecting a documentary on the winning, I was expecting Dominique punching Alexis, and drama and backstabbing and such. Random notes and maybe spoilers:

-Kraft after the Parcells debacle: "I promised myself in the future, I would find a coach that truly put the team first."

-The use of Verdi's Dies Irae (which I've sung a few times as part of a choir) was an excellent and appropriate choice.

-Bledsoe's got a great radio voice.

-U2's Edge talking about Brady vs Bledsoe was hilarious.

-Bruschi on Drew's support despite the situation: "That's where I think the Patriot Way started."

-Mike Martz, Strahan (disses both TB12 and Eli), and Parcells - Nice cameos.

- I was worried by earlier posts about all the focus on Spygate and the 2007 season, but as painful as it was to watch, it seemed like it was very necessary (since a vast majority of people watching this won't be Patriots fans) and will probably set up future strife.

- Forgot that the "Pats filmed the Rams walkthrough" happened in the beginning of that notorious SB.

It's already what, 10 episodes? Why not make it 12 and actually cover the back to back super bowls that cemented the team as a dynasty. We got one spy gate heavy episode and I'd guess we will get a deflategate heavy episode so is that really going to leave 5 episodes for the last 2-3 years of drama?

I don't think it's gonna get better so probably yes
