Enjoyed the first 2 episodes. It was cool to see some of the behind the scenes footage like Brady in the condo he bought from Law.

It seemed Belichick would rather be anywhere other than in that interview. He doesn’t really say too much in these episodes and looks uncomfortable in a suit 2 sizes to small and squashed in a chair that he barely fits in. Really awkward compared to the others who seemed relaxed.
BB being uncomfortable in an interview setting? That's news to me. He seems so comfortable around the media normally.

The problem he has is that anytime you give the reasons for such an assessment, it comes off as criticism for another player. I mean, the whole first 2 episodes ended up painting Bledsoe in a bad light because of his unwillingness to stand in the pocket.

What's the need to denigrate a player the way Pioli kind of rips Bledsoe's play, especially so long after the fact?

This is typical for Belichick. If he gives you the reasons for what he's thinking, besides the self-evident one (he favors Brady over Bledsoe), then it sounds like needless and even hurtful criticism of Bledsoe long after the fact. Obviously, not everyone has these scruples.

I can't ever remember Belichick throwing a player under the bus in all his years of coaching.

I’m not saying he had to throw anyone under the bus, they had Ernie Adams for that!

It would have been nice though for him to have talked from his point of view on certain things: the snow game, the kick, the D’s dominance, putting together that team, etc… To me it looked like he wanted no part in this, and that’s a shame. In the doc based on the Pats dynasty his voice along with Brady’s should be heard the most.

Yes, Bill cheating on his wife and breaking up another couple's marriage show his scruples:

"As per reports, Bill Belichick had an affair with a woman named Sharon Shenocca. She was a receptionist for the New York Giants at that time. Reports suggested that the Tennessee-born HC spent thousands of dollars on Shenocca.

Some reports suggest that Belichick and Sharon met for the first time in the 1980s when he was the Giants’ defensive coordinator. Other reports stated that their affair was the reason behind the HC’s divorce from Clarke.

The news about Bill Belichick cheating on Debby Clarke had been everywhere after their divorce. However, later on, it turned out that Sharon Shenocca was also cheating on her husband. She was married to her husband, Vincent Shenocca and had an extra-marital affair with the former Cleveland Browns HC.

After the news of Belichick’s affair with Sharon, her husband divorced her as well. Vincent accused the NFL coach of sending cash-filled envelopes to Sharon. Bill Belichick even reportedly bought her a luxury house worth $2.2 million at Park Slope TownHouse.

During Sharon and Vicent’s divorce, Belichick was referred to as the other manin their marriage. A New Jersey judge even gave orders to question the former Jets defensive coordinator. However, the divorce eventually happened without Bill Belichick appearing in court."

Man you are really just sucking the air out of every thread now. I can't be the only one who thinks that. Not gonna go and start some knitting circle in profile DM's about it, but seriously.

It's wild because when you post about the new staff and upcoming team, it's refreshingly level headed and often positive. But this **** is obsessive.

Hopefully he's got some good quotes coming up in the next few episodes. Keep in mind this is several episodes for us but one interview for him and who knows what's already been discussed in that interview and there are some uncomfortable questions he knows are going to be asked.

Not saying it's right or even does his image any good but we know he closes ranks in this type situation. He can be quite loose and fun in the kiss ass type of stuff like the top 100 the year he did that or with the 2 Bills doc so I wish we got that Bill for this Doc too but it is what it is.

upstater continues to post lies and BS and goes unchallenged. I've taken it upon myself to challenge his BS since nobody else does. He's a lying, scumbag pos.

bb never throwing a player under the bus couldn't have any less correlation to his personal life. wasn't like he was blabbing to the media about what he thought his wife's shortcomings were or something. it's like upstater was talking about airlines not being on time and ven said well yeah, trains suck!

Brady has been saying this for awhile about the tuck rule, based on a show he did with Woodson, and also buying into the Raiders.

But Brady is wrong. I think he's bought into the conventional wisdom of football players and the media.

The play was ruled correctly. I always say this but the tuck rule was used AGAINST the Patriots that year during the Mo Lewis/Bledsoe hit game. The Patriots lost after the recovery of a Testaverde fumble which was called a pass because of the tuck rule. Who knows where the Patriots would've been or who they would've played in the playoffs.

I don't think Brady is admitting it was a fumble based on the rules of the day, I think he is admitting he had no intention to throw the ball and he had brought the ball down and was lucky that Walt Coleman determined he never tucked the ball back to his body. I think he doesn't deny that it was the correct call based on the rule, but in reality he fumbled the ball.

People forget that the Pats were victims of the tuck rule that same year against the Jets where it was ruled that Testeverde hadn't tucked the ball on a play he clearly pulled the ball back down and wasn't throwing but never "tucked" the ball.

Bottom line, it was the correct call on a really bad rule. I am glad they got rid of it. Common sense says that was a fumble and a bad rule overruled common sense.

Nope, upstater is painting Bill as having high standards and scruples, WHILE saying Brady doesn't. He knows what he's doing. I know what he's doing. You don't seem to get it.

Remember Zappe's fumble on the very first play of the Denver game? This is why the Tuck Rule was invented. Zappe's arm was moving forward when the ball was knocked out of his hand. The tuck rule was invented to remove ambiguity.

I know it's a crud rule, but it specifically addresses a situation that is now at the NY NFL's office arbitrary and often wrong discretion. The replacement for the tuck rule is worse than the tuck rule.

Just finished the first 2 episodes, and it was a joy to relive those early days (except what Drew went through medically). All the cameos were awesome (except for that guy who said they were bad for many many years... c'mon)... Even BB's neck cracking. Gotta unbutton that top button BB - looks like you're hurtin'.

It was interesting when Pioli quoted Ernie after the latter watched Drew's film after the years of enduring hits: "He looks like a Wildebeast under attack." It gives the underlying reasons for BB's naming TB12 as the starter for the rest of the season prior to the Rams game, especially after Drew's enduring that hit and recovery. It's crazy to think after watching Kraft here that if the Pats had finished under .500 after the Rams game, BB would have been fired and probably never rehired as a HC.

I feel that that the show's handling of the comparison of the Kosar/Vinny decision wasn't so much was it the right decision, it was dealing with the perception and blowback from fans and media regarding a very unpopular decision for cutting native son Kosar (starting Vinny who was 24-48 as a starter going into that season) and how he put himself and his family into that same position again. "Dad... what's a wanker?"

Overall, I feel like it's been fair and balanced with no real mudslinging, but it's early... like the first part of the 1812 Overture. Can't wait for the cannons... and I don't mean lacrosse.

My favorite part was the slowmo of the Snow kick with the snow and all the "noise" from the old footage.

The Brady over Bledsoe situation was very interesting to watch. I was a big Bledsoe guy and wanted him to get his job back even though he was clearly uncomfortable in the offense. Ernie Adams saw that Bledsoe’s pocket presence was getting worse which unfortunately was true. Kraft wanted Bledsoe back because of what he did for the Franchise and the recent contract, but didn’t want to handcuff Belichick. However, you got the sense from Kraft that the pressure was on Bill. In fact, Scott Pioli confirmed the long debate on here that had the season gone south, they were getting fired.

I got the feeling that Drew Bledsoe started out not threatened by Tom, but then started to dislike him after he lost his job.

It was cool to see Tom Brady in those videos shot by Dave Nugent before he was a star. It was funny to hear about his video game stories. I can relate.

That was the game where I really bought into TB. I thought he was a lot better than expected before, but that game showed how clutch he was.
And it’s funny because if they hadn’t called the tuck, Brady fumbled away their chances.

i didn't see anything questioning brady in that post. the "obviously" sentence came off as a general observation and i thought it was comparing him to how other coaches like that moron ron rivera handle public criticism of his players and staff.

Well the situation did devolve, a lot of which because of his handling of it. They should have said Bill was right both times.

I don't remember the Brady decision being so divided. I thought the media was on the side of "ride the winner".

The Brady decision was extremely divided. There was a large contingent of Patriot fans who didnt buy into Brady replacing Bledsoe until they won their second Lombardi.

Belichick basically staked his head coaching career on sticking with Brady after that St.Louis loss, he saw the ongoing improvement from Brady, and thought Bledsoe had flatlined in terms of getting any better. He was right, and we all reaped the benefits of that decision.
