I don’t dismiss the value of great WR’s, they change the way defenses play you, but only if you have a QB who can get them the ball, and who isn’t getting killed, and these days you need 2 really good tackles, because pass rushers are now as quick as running backs, but much bigger. So I value tackles over receivers, because you have to walk before you can run, so protection first, and then the receivers.
And you are right, not only could they get their QB at 3, but they could get their tackle in the 16-32 range by trading up with their 2nd, and then go WR a couple of times, as well as in free agency.
My preference is to take one of the top 3 QB’s, then trade up and take Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma, then take 2-3 WR’s with the remaining picks, and try to get Higgins in free agency.
