When you can take 3 and get a generational WR to match with a young Untapped potential QB who athletically rivals Jayden Daniels but is stronger and faster with a bigger arm it’s gotta be in the conversation.
That's what I'm saying.

Ya, but what's between the ears? He's struggled to run a timing offense: seeing, processing and converting.
Being big and fast and strong arm doesn't always translate to good offense.

I've been banging the drum to sign a FA QB instead of drafting one at #3 - whether we take MHJ or trade down a bit and get a franchise LT and a very good WR. But, we could sign Browning for a fraction of the money, and get a high ceiling QB who can run a similar offense as the one AVP will run.

I love Browning as well, I can be sold on that idea.
Are we sure it would be much less money though?
He put up Burrow kind of numbers last year.
He’s essentially a more refined Mac Joned albeit with balls.
Fields is a generational athlete who with our new QB whisperer could unlock his potential and yes it would cost us pick 34 which I’m ok parting with unless we can guarantee Nix is there.

What to about Kicker?

Sign a reliable vet?
It bring in late round picks and udfas and have a competition?

Price can't be more than our 3rd rounder. I doubt fields gets a 2nd rounder.

We could be competing with Falcons, Raiders, Broncos, Commanders, Steelers, Giants?Seahawks?

They are def getting a second from someone.

Do people mean Browning as in the guy from Cincy? He's an exclusive rights free agent. If Cincy tender shim a paltry $750K qualifying offer then he can't negotiate with other teams. Not even a restricted free agent situation where we could even make an offer for them to match. He just flat out can't talk to other teams. Am I missing something?

I think all of this is doable with cap space we have, but obviously depends on how we structure contracts.

Amongst our own, I'd like to re-sign Onwenu, Henry, Jennings, Mack Wilson, and Pharoh Brown. Let Dugger/Brown/Uche/Geisecki/Bourne/Mills/Myles Bryant walk. On the roster, I'd look to move on from Mac, Juju, Davante Parker, Lawrence Guy, and potentially Godchaux (unless he takes paycut). For outside guys, I'd try to bring in:

BAL DT Justin Madubuike - Splurge signing for a guy to form a dominant pairing inside with Barmore. Build the pass rush from the inside to combat mobile QBs.

CIN WR Tee Higgins - Splurge for a reliable outside the numbers, downfield threat.

CIN OT Jonah Williams - Brings either side of the line versatility and someone we

LAR S Jordan Fuller - Let Dugger go and getting a more traditional FS type to partner with Peppers.

WAS QB Jacoby Brissett - Need a vet QB in the room.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Need a receiving back to compliment Stevenson.

NO CB Isaac Yiadom - Fairly young guy who played with NO a bit last year and could be a decent guy to try and grow as a starter opposite Gonzalez.

DET WR Josh Reynolds - Even with Higgins, I let go other WRs so try to build a respectable room heading into the draft.

We'd head into the draft with:

QB: Brissett / Zappe

RB: Stevenson / McKissic / Kevin Harris

WR: Higgins / Reynolds / Pop Douglas

TE: Henry / Brown

OL: Williams / Strange / Andrews / Sow / Onwenu

DL: Barmore / Madubuike / Wise / White

EDGE/OLB: Judon / Jennings / Mack Wilson

LB: Bentley / Tavani / Mapu

CB: Gonzalez / Isaac Yiadom / Jon Jones / Marcus Jones / Alex Austin

S: Peppers / Fuller

Tee Higgins will be Tagged I think: no thanks to Drop Reynolds and Jonah turnstile Williams. Also I prefer Jump Ball Joe over Biscuit.

Nopes.

1. Raiders have garopollo. Fields is not significantly better.
2. Broncos will move from wilson. No way will they try another project for 2 years where 5th year is at 25 million. Not happening.
3. Commanders will take 2nd qb
4. Giants - Daniel Jones an fields are on par
5. Steelers - went to playoffs and Kenny pickett had similar season as fields in first half. Will not spend 2nd rounder on a deep wr draft class. Expect Pittsburg to add another one to complement Pickens .
6. Seahawks - geno Smith isbon par if not better than fields for now.

You are overestimating fields and underestimating value of rookie qb. Fields is not a guaranteed stud and has onlyb1 year on rookie contract . Mid 3rd or early 4th is what he will get .

Chicago would need to find a team willing to pick fields 5th year option. Not sure many teams exist.

It will be interesting.

Grap is done in Vegas.
Anything Mcdaniels was wiped out.
Broncos are very unpredictable in their next move.
Comamnders could take a QB or they could take a tackle or MH JR
Giants- I think they are done with Jones and the low cost investment in Firlds to at least compete will rn something to monitor.
Steelers- Pickett has been their version of Mac Jones, Mason Rudolph is decent but jto a franchise guy.
Seahawks- new coaches always bring some kind of change, you don’t think maybe Mcdoanld may want a mobile QB in the Lamar class?

You need to understand teams trading for fields will need to pick up his 5th year option. If you are not planning to do that , then its a 1 year rental. 1 year rental will not yield anything more than 4th or 5th rounder.

Teams that could potentially take fields 5th year option

Pats
Falcons
Steelers

But if fields flames out and pickett shows growth then the steelers get screwed even more. So take out steelers also out if mix.

In essence it's just pats and Falcons
If we trade our 3rd to Falcons, Falcons go with qb . It leaves just us.

Bears know it and they will run to make the deal if we offer our 3rd.

I think just wait out and get fields for a 4th rounder and don't pick his 5th year option. Trade Mac for a 5th .

Can Raiders fit him under the cap?
Let’s say they trade Davante Adams?
What would that free up?

I think it's really important to re-sign replace Onwenu at RT and sign some sort of stand-in LT like Donovan Smith, Jonah Williams, etc. It would be nice if Trent Brown wasn't such an ass, but feels like a bad guy to bring back.

LT Donovan Smith or Jonah Williams or someone
LG Cole Strange
C David Andrews
RG Sidy Sow
RT Mike Onwenu

Like everyone else, I want an OT in the draft. But unless you're dead set on using #3 for one, I don't think you can bank on getting passable play out of a rookie. I know it looks like a deep class but what if we go QB at #3 and then 8 OTs go before we pick again and the next two guys don't fit our blocking scheme well and the next 2 on our board are deemed projects over day 1 starters.

If we don't get better OL play, specifically OT, then our QB is doomed. Our offense will remain such a pile of suck that no one can develop elsewhere. It's SO important that we lock in at least passable play on the OL heading into the draft so you can at least develop guys elsewhere. Obviously in an ideal world you land legit long term solutions in the draft but need at least stop gaps in place IMO.

Love his game, but I wouldn’t pay him much. He’s almost 30 & seems to be breaking down a bit.
He'll be 29 this year I would love him and Calvin Ridley in FA older guys who shouldn't cost the moon.
