Ditto the Texans.Yeah I get it, but I'm sure people said the Lions would never be able to attract quality coaches either. Things change.

Drake Maye might be in play at the 3 spot
something to be said for starting from scratch/clean slate. Somebody who enjoys the building challenge. Younger person trying to make their mark.I think anyone who desires the OC role would be interested.
A) Chicago takes MHJ at 1 to pair with Fields and DJ Moore, with Waldron getting more out of FieldsI thought Waldron was a top OC this cycle.
The Bears hiring him could signal something other than drafting a new #1 QB...
- they have him do the magic he did for Geno, and try to reap all the investment into Fields.
Personally, unless you're going up to 1 for the QB, and even then - the package to trade from 3 to 1 is just way too prohibitive. I like Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison a lot - I don't like them 3 first round picks a lot.A) Chicago takes MHJ at 1 to pair with Fields and DJ Moore, with Waldron getting more out of Fields
B) Chicago seeks a trade partner for the 1st overall pick - may be sensible for NE to trade up as Chicago could still get MHJ at 3 - cost might not be prohibitive in that situation
C) Chicago trades with a team much further down for a big bounty of picks - means NE is still just looking at Daniels or MHJ themselves again
Due to the value of MHJ I could see this lowering the cost of a trade up to 1, if that’s who Chicago specifically wants. For instance, they really want to draft him but know they can get some premium capital by trading down and still taking him, but also know that they can’t trade down any further than 3 to do so. So, that gives NE some leverage as well to lower the price, as if they don’t trade then Chicago will just take MHJ at 1 and NE loses no capital and still gets a top 2 QB.Personally, unless you're going up to 1 for the QB, and even then - the package to trade from 3 to 1 is just way too prohibitive. I could see a scenario where the trade is only their 2025 first.
I'm thinking BoB and he's pissed he has no one left.Exactly this. His source are most certainly Bill guys and he knows once their gone he will become irrelevant
Ok which one of you IBWT posters is Wayne Gregoire? LMAONobody wants the New England Patriots Offensive Coordinator job
Jerod Mayo is trying to find an offensive coordinator, but the New England Patriots job is not appealing.fansided.com
Hit piece against Mayo.
That and the fact that you can only go but up from a 4-13 record. It's a great opportunity for coaches to show their stuff with a clean slate.I'd assume they'd have a say in which QB to draft and which WRs to go after. The big appeal is that if you're a WR coach or a TE coach, being an OC is one step closer to being a HC. It might not be the most attractive OC job out there, but it's an open one.
Who said that was the case?If they had a choice to make on which QB to take at 3 maybe, but if they pre decide to take QB at 3 no matter what, I would not count that as a positive.
They're sitting in on the interviews but it's Mayo's choice. Pretty clear to me."It's all ME. It's all ME at this point except for a couple of other dudes who are just more of ME."
High pick, lots of money going to be spent on offense, a high profile team, and a young defensive head coach who is going to lean on you to run the offense and will credit you when it goes well. If you are a coach who is looking to become an OC and has aspirations of becoming a HC, this seems like a good job for you.Everyone saying that the OC position in New England is "undesirable"?
only 32 OC positions in the nfl
New coach, willingness to spend money in free agency and high draft pick... all that and the chance to make your mark on a team that has know huge levels of success...
stepping in and turning around the offense for a big market team is the fast track to a Head coaching gig.
That is not an undesirable situation to be in... high pressure yes, but undesirable? nah.

answer this question, and you will have your answer. who (on the coaching staff) gets noticed if the O takes off?How is "new coach" actually a benefit to the new OC coming in?
