Report: Bill wanted to trade Mac before season

BB has traded better players (Bledsoe) and hung on to worse (Ferentz) so who knows? Many would have dumped him uncompensated.

Hasn’t there been reports previously that Bill wanted to trade Mac and Bob turned him down? That is news to me that he would have pursued Mayfield.

He has liked Mayfield for a very long time. We dodged a bullet when Belichick tried to trade for the right to pick Mayfield in the draft (that's a rumor, but if you search for it, there are articles).

I guess good that did not happen, trade value for Jones was very low from Breer reports at the time so return would have been not much, and Mayfield would have given them a few wins, thus we would draft 10th or so instead of 3rd.

Yes, yes he did. Almost as if telling the world that Mac Jones was the only QB the Patriots needed.

They weren't bringing in a veteran that could have had the chance to beat Mac Jones out last year - and they won't this year.
