Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Feel bad for Halliburton that was brutal
He’s a baller and was having a great season, what a shame. Hope it’s one of those injuries that looks terrible but he’ll still make a return at some point this season.

Their depth is limited by injuries but they gotta get Brissett out of the game.

Yikes. Not a good end to the quarter. Gotta question Joe’s management of Brown’s minutes with Tatum out. Tight game and they need to stick JB on the bench for a good 4-5 critical minutes as he’s already played 30 and the entire third quarter.

Hoping DWhite can get right in the fourth quarter. Tough shooting game but we need him here.

How the **** do you go to review, see a foul even more clearly than before and then reverse it? At least when we got away with a missed call last season against LA there wasn’t a review. This one is just inexplicable.

Celtics got hosed. Moron refs

Look at White throwing his hands up unguarded

Look at Porzingis pointing to White

Didn’t like the call but this is loser basketball. Between Brown and Tatum they’ve lost at least three games by being superstars and needing the last shot in the closing seconds of games despite having perfect setups for teammates.

Bad play. Still should’ve received the foul call.
Wish he had dished it over to the guy who went 4-16 when we really needed him tonight.

On replay it doesn’t look quite as atrocious as those screen caps have it looking. McConnell peeled off White right after Brown had already started his drive. He still could’ve made a great pass over to White but it didn’t quite happen. I think I’ve seen Tatum make dozens of worse last second plays over his career.

Brown showed up tonight, perhaps if his teammates, namely DWhite, did from the jump this wouldn’t have been a close game to begin with.

In any case we move on. Tough game ahead with Minny. Hope JT is back.

White had a very bad shooting game but clearly you’re not able to see beyond shooting when it comes to player evals. White setup so many shots for other players and was great on defense as usual.

That ball should have 100% gone to White who likely would have swung it to Porzingis for an open 3 at the buzzer. If he misses, Celtics still go to OT. Terrible decisions like that oft wind up with worst case outcomes, like here.

Guessing you didn’t play basketball. 10 times out of 10 almost every player makes that pass and doesn’t dribble into a triple/ quadruple team. That’s the difference between a winner and prima dona.

Brown was on fire tonight shooting - 40 points - but had 5 turnovers. 32 times he ended the possession (27 shots, 5 TOs) and had just 2 assists.

Just give it a rest. Brown had a great night overall and we’d have gotten blown out if he wasn’t playing. He should’ve made the pass at the end but like I said in my edited post, the screen cap looks a lot worse than the actual video. McConnell hadn’t quite peeled off White until Brown already committed to a drive.

2024 JB ought to have sensed it and dished it back out but he didn’t. He tunnel visioned it and didn’t see White open. **** happens.

Have you called Tatum a primadonna each time he makes absolute garbage decisions with his last second shots? He has done it dozens of times over his career. But I’m sure you would rush to screen cap each of these plays to show us how miserable those shots were and where the better plays would have been. Your hatred for Brown is strong. Chill.

Yes I definitely think Tatum’s last possession stuff is also ********. Tatum had some quote before the season along the lines of “me and JB are finishing the game” and it’s becoming apparent this was literal. The Celtics only weakness has been these last possession/OT games and it’s clear why that is. Both of them need to drop this mentality because at some point in the playoffs this is going to be the difference in a series.

I appreciate this post. Reasonable and fair. Not so much the ones where you are chomping at the bit to go after JB.

I don’t think Brown gets many opportunities for last second shots so I don’t see a pattern of end game selfishness with him. And I think that if he had seen White open, he would’ve gone to him. Seems like he didn’t sense McConnell peeling off and recognize someone must be open. Mistake. I’m not sure Tatum would have given up the ball regardless.

Team Bill’s cowardly dumb **** is now Team Jaylen’s cowardly dumb ****. Time is a flat circle.

Remember your 5000 dislikes for every critical thing said about Mac Jones too? Lol
Regale us further about how Jaylen is the worst player on the team. Make more of a fool of yourself. C'mon, it's your best feature.

Awww the little baby is back to take out his anger again. Did you jack off to Jaylen’s 40 point performance where the team lost to a middling team without it’s superstar?

Here you go:

I did play basketball. A lot of it.
And I agree that was an absolute boneheaded play by JB.
But he was the best player on the floor most of the game and the C's wouldve been down 10 at that point without JB.
He had a great overall game.
But yes, that was a really bad play.
If A teammate of mine did that in that situation,I wouldve been pissed.

Hey no big deal or anything, just an incorrect foul called with 0.3 seconds left that cost them the game, even though they reviewed it. Nice one, NBA.

I’ve been very pleased with his game over the last month with anticipating doubles and playing within the offense. Which is what made that so jarring in real time.

******** that the Pacers get the ball with all that time left. So they don’t run the clock to when the Pacers actually rebounded it (that doesn’t count) yet the Pacers get possession for a rebound after a whistle is blown (that counts.). Then they miss an illegal screen on the Pacers inbounds that would have puts Cs at free throw line to win game. Then they call a bad foul on Porzingis despite reviewing it. Then they run off clock to 0.3 seconds because the homer clock keeper tried to ice the game in his own. Just ****ing ********.

Absolutely sensational performance by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Those guys just completely carried the team on their backs tonight.

JT - 45 pts, 6-6 FT in OT
JB - 35 pts, 4-4 FT in OT

Great win against one of the best teams.

That was an incredible game to watch. Timberwolves were suffocating on defense even without Gobert and Conley.

Celtics have to go to Milwaukee tomorrow, ************.

Great freaking game! We need games like this to wash the bad taste of the Pats out of our mouths.
Anyone know if KP is expected to play tomorrow?
