Whomever said this is going to be like Game of Thrones appears to be spot on after this press conference.
Yup - Bill is not the type to make his firing go easy. I wished Brady did the same when it happened. Kraft would have given him the contract he wanted if Brady had tried to make it ugly.

Interesting. If he was willing to give up gm duties that would be a dream come true. I love Belichick the coach, the team benefits big time if he stays. However, I doubt he has it in him to to stand by and watch the owner and say a new GM, even if it were Dimotroff who he knows, come in and clean house? We know the defensive staff is up to snuff and could all keep their jobs. Anyone think he would be ok with the org letting go of Troy, Brown, Bob, Judge and a majority of the scouting staff? I’ll believe it when I see it.
I was think yesterday that one of the problems is that BB has surrounded himself with yes men that don't push back against personal decisions such as trading a mid first rnd pick for a low first rnd draft pick so he could take a guard that most likely could have been had in the third or fourth rnd. Thats just one example, i'm sure i could come up with many more head scratching moves.

I wish more would understand. When his staff was good the team was good. **** staff, **** performances.. what can we really expect when staffers are getting paid minimum wage in the NFL!! Your only as good as the people around you.
Yeah players were just decorative ornaments. Dumb take.

Kraft was the one who negotiated contracts with Brady. I don’t think PR around why he was leaving would have made any difference.

If Brady came out and said he was unhappy with his contract and situation and made a stink of it? Lol 100% team would have caved.

Also that was 100% a Bill decision that Kraft blessed.

Bingo! Just that particular take though. Not you personally!
I understand lol it's no offense taken. Well it is reported that his staff was making peanuts.

Yeah. The more I've thought about it, the more I realized that Bill has such a sweet gig here and is never going to get that anywhere else. He probably doesn't want to leave knowing the leash will be even shorter, the fans won't have the same reverance and he won't get the same power.

I believe that Brady often took less for the greater good of the overall team as him being a humble superstar. The organization likely felt he'd always cave and take less. 3 years and 1 superbowl later guess that didn't apply...

Are you guys effing nuts in here?

I love BB but it’s time for him to move on elsewhere. The dysfunction of this season, and the previous one, goes beyond just GM duties. The organization is filled to the brim with Belichick loyalists. Do we really think that he won’t still be influential in personnel decisions?

For Belichick to stay we need a new GM who is outside of his tree. We need to hire new coaches. Control of the offensive coaching staff goes to the OC with hiring approval given by an independent personnel guy, And then you have to ask yourself; do you trust Belichick with a young QB again? Look what happened with Mac. Don’t tell me Bill didn’t have a hand in it.

He has to go, they have to clean house. It sounds like Bill is daring the Kraft’s to fire him and they better not lose their nerve.

And he is very old. Starting over is a lot harder than people think and nobody wants to do it at that age.

You would think that was the case given Stidham was the starter till Cam happened late.

But the fact they let him be a free agent the prior year, did not even contact him during free agency till he had his Tampa contract and all that PR about Brady earned right to make his decision tells me they did not want Brady back. So stupid given that Stidham was up next.

He's the one who walked out the door not even acknowledging the fans known he put forth a disgusting roster.

Maybe save your hyperbole for something that actually matters. That was embarrassing.
Acknowledge the fans… ha. How many times you pop over to Bills house and bring him a baked cake? I hated the fact that not even one reporter ever says… “ hey Bill , thanks the the great memories … it’s been a hell of a ride!!!”

I said this in another post few days ago. I’m gonna laugh my ass off come Monday morning and Bill is not fired but given a two year extension.. there gonna be a lot of chuckleheads exploding on this board !!! Haha
Chuckleheads or people who are thinking logically and understand another season of Belichick cannot work?

At 72 and at most 2-3 years left guy probably doesn’t want to leave honestly. He’s close to the end who wants to move on.

I honestly didn’t think he would agree to relinquish GM duties at least in New England. But if he does he will be back IMO

Let him handle Hc and defense. Let O’Brien or McDaniels or whomever handle the offense 100% witha GM picking the groceries

At 72 years old BB may be fine with giving up the GM duties because it would reduce his workload. He could focus on coaching and continue working with his sons which he has mentioned he really enjoys.
