BB watch

I'll tell you what needs to go...Not Bill, but the sodomite dancers dancing in front of people's kids. If Bill leaves I'll be happy to join him if this doesn't change.
Don't threaten us with a good time.

Here's my take....

I'm eternally grateful for everything he has done for the organization, but I still think it's time to part ways.

I do think his decision-making has been VERY suspect recently. Outright cutting Zappe (maybe to prove a point?) but why risk losing the only other QB that knows your playbook. Also, he used to be 'ahead of the curve' in going for it on fourth down and now he plays 'more scared' than any coach in the league. Not to mention other head scratchers like bringing in Patricia and Judge to the run the offense, and bringing back Cam Newton after his horrific season. Sure they ultimately did cut Cam in his second year with the Pats, but it was a real head scratcher that they even brought him back to begin with.

BB is an old school guy, and the reality is that not only has 'the game changed' but the players of changed. I'm sure we've all seen in in our own work lives, Kids coming out of college these days are wired differently than older generations. I think it's harder for BB to connect with these players and earn the respect he deserves. Instead, they are more apt to respond to a hip Mike McDaniels-type. Of course, nothing BB can do about this, but I do think it's a factor.

The reality is that we need a complete overhaul, so why not just do the 'full rip the band aid off' and make the GM/coach change now?
I do agree that many of these kids coming out are wired different. Those are called wide receivers.. for the most part , the ones that everyone seems to want. Bill wants guys to block and put team first. Spread the ball around.I believe because of this shift in the type of young men coming out of college , there will never be any more dynasties… just a lot of rich, Prima Donna whiny ****ies retiring to their podcasts after 3-4 years in the league..” talking about the glory days “…

Salah is getting a mulligan because the plan was go all in on Rodgers and once Rodgers went down the franchise was content to just get through the year and prepare for next year.

Bill is in danger because the goal for this year was to show clear improvement and he had his worst season ever.

You can't seperate the context of expectations. Saleh basically did what the franchise wanted. Belichick had 4 years to show he could rebuild the team and failed.

You also have to add in that Belichick is on a timer that Saleh isn't. Bill is now looking at being on his worst team and building from square one again at the age of 72. Saleh is looking at seeing if he can win with a healthy Rodgers with a team that has shown talent everywhere but the passing game.
It really shouldn’t change anything though because the team is exactly the same as it was pre Rodgers - losing at least 10 games. This is 3 straight years now which is really bad. Ryan got fired after 3 straight bad years and this was after he got them to two straight AFCCG’s. Bowles also got fired after 3 losing seasons. Gase with two.

2024 will be his last year if they don’t do well.

When I think backup , I’m thinking Hoyer. And honestly he sucked. Zappes ceiling I’m thinking must be higher. Kids got Moxie
Yes, Hoyer had some good seasons but when it really started to matter, he choked, witness Browns and Texans.

I don't disagree. His ceiling could be in the Jeff Hostetler, Frank Reich, Nick Foles area. He could get on a hot streak with a well built team and be a winning QB. I wouldn't build around him just yet, but maybe I will feel different if he throws for 700 with 6 TDs the next couple games. But that's all pie in the sky stuff for me. I think he's more of a guy who will come in and give you a solid effort but he's not going to be the face of your franchise for the next 10 years. I guess we will find out. It's more likely that he's going to throw for 225 with a TD and an INT, with some sparkling plays that make you go Oooooooooooooooh and a couple that make you go WTF.

@archstanton543 what don't you agree with? I am so no committal with my thought process on him it's ridiculous. I could be a politician with it.

Probably not. But I bet he'd win more than he'd lose if he was behind center in Miami or SF.
He would have won more than he lost if he started all 15 here. And he would need to be upgraded.

Let’s see what he does today with this completely depleted team. I still root for the type of guy that comes in and galvanizes a team. Heart matters

I can't see any scenario where BB and his staff survive a 4/5 win season with the trend being consistently down since Brady left.

Gonna be weird seeing a brand new Patriots team in 2024.

BB is not going anywhere. Not sure why you are so vested in BB not being the coach here. Who do you have in mind as replacement? Or just fire him and figure it out in the sense that anybody out there will be better?

It was decided last yr by kraft that mayo will take over in 2 yrs. Its just going to be an yr early. I wish they didnt do it but kraft will do it for media perception.

The team will interview candidates and pick the best one like every other team does when making a coaching or GM change.

When the team has been trending the wrong way since Brady left mostly because of personnel decisions by the GM/HC it’s time for a change. I guess we’ll see what happens one week from today.

This draft position and massive cap room will set this team up for the next 4 years...
- whether it's a continued bottom-dweller, or a resurgence to conference competitor

Who is best suited to handle all that personnel acquisition?
It's a tough call. BB did it so well for so long. Is the issue with the last 5 years bad luck, or a loss of pulse?

Zappe sucks ass and yes the QB position needs to be upgraded. Along with coaching.
Zappe is better than 10 but still a liability holding back this team.
Yesterday was a win with average qb play. By my count that’s 6 losses that are wins if the QB plays average.
Fix the qb and continue the rebuild.
