AJ I am not going try to convince you can't get blood from a stone.
52 other players, dozens of coaches, an entire front office and staff disagree with your viewpoint.
Trying to get blood from a stone would be the same as trying to get someone intelligent to buy your viewpoint.

AJ one question would you want BB back as HC/GM?? How you answer that is going leave a lasting impression on me think deeply.

Who do you think the GM that built that dynasty was?
You answered my question below you like living in the past who am I kidding?? Many here don't share your sentiments.

So the proof in in the pudding that BB sucks at Drafting and Evaluating Offensive players but you would say he's not I get it.

Of course I would. He is the best who has ever done it.

The way he has done the job of building the team has produced the best results ever.
Who has ever done better?

Stop the presses I didn't see that response coming: so when he's sent along his merry way I guess you're out too. I'm going kind of miss you A.J I love your determination.

I like winning. So I want the best person building the franchise. There is no doubt who the best ever is.
I’m sorry that you are so short sighted that when, finally after sustaining the longest dynasty ever, the down time comes, like it does to every franchise, but every other one much faster, you think the right think to do is find someone to blame and you want to downgrade the organization so you can bloviate about who you blame. It’s sad really.

Option B: Eliot Wolf.
Great pedigree. Dad was Ron, GM of the Packers hay day.
my dad was a master mechanic in his day. He could fix any engine there was. I have trouble opening the hood of my truck to put in washer fluid.

See this is the difference between us. I am a patriot fan. I root for the success of the franchise and when someone is no longer a patriot they are meaningless to me.
This is probably why we differ in this. It is very important to me that the franchise make the best decisions, while you just want to complain and try something new, and worse.

He hasn't beaten Tua and may never and 0-2 lifetime against Josh McDaniels the HC but I agree he's still the Greatest until the Walrus passes him.

Of course you saw it coming because I am consistent and not frivolous in stating my opinions. He is the best because he has proven he is the best. I don’t over look that because I don’t like the current results.
No one, ever, has won consistently and at his level forever. No one who would replace him will either.
You are looking at adversity and crying that it exists while I am saying the way out of the adversity is with the proven success.

He has won 6 SBs and 31 playoff games and you are talking about stupid points like that as if you have someone else who has won more but doesn’t have that negative.
Silly.

And when that happens it's time to go we have seen that movie before with many greats.

Call it a hunch but I think the GM that replaces him will Draft better and not stock the future Team with St's Players.

He could have won two more if we didn't send Brady packing and benching Butler on the Big stage.

This thread is confirming my thoughts about how nobody has any idea how to evaluate GM candidates. At least we can pretend that OC/DC performance is predictive of whether somebody will be a good HC or not. We don’t even have that to lean on with a GM search, so the thread just turns into some side argument instead.

Speaking for myself.. what I do is look at roster building. Most notably the QB position, then the skill positions..

How does 53 look as a whole, viable back ups. Teams I've noticed with top end talent at the skill positions:
Eagles
9ners
Bills
Vikings
KC
Ravens
Dolphins
Dallas
Bengals
There of course are others but those teams to name a few. Those GMs of those respective teams have done a great job at the skill positions be it QB or WRs

As far guys I believe are great talent evaluation people Rick Speilman former Vikings GM and Mike Tannenbaum.
