Tom Curran: Sources made 'clear to me' decision to move on from Belichick made after Germany game

Hips don’t lie

I am gonna have to disagree with the Rodmnan ruining the NBA comment. The way he played the game is why I used to love NBA basketball. He was the most skilled rebounder I have ever seen. I could have lived without the antics, but his style of play was a joy to watch despite hating the teams he played for.
My reference to him HAS to do about his antics. He is definitely one of the prime examples of athletes that put his BRAND before team. He tried to became the spotlight …

I disagree. If anything..he was a shy feller..and didn't want any attention. IMO, he hid behind that facade and just quietly went to work on the boards...

its very telling how its the same this yr. People are clamoring for WRs and he picked a defensive guy in the first round.
I laugh every time I read it. Back when Bill went against the grain and came out smelling like a rose more often than not.

Ive been on here all year saying that QB is the most important position in football. It makes a huge difference. I'm a huge Brady fan, he made a huge difference!

But you still need a team.

You can have an All-Pro roster, but if you're lead by 2 backups, it's not going to work.

Now Baker Mayfield is bad, but you should also notice that 6 of the Bucs I listed are gone from the team.

Think of it this way: the Rams added Stafford and a bunch of other All-Pros and they won a Super Bowl. Then those All-Pros left and Stafford stayed, so they suffered. Actually, between last's year bye week and this year's when Stafford went out, they went 5-15.
I agree.

I also think Tampa had some talent on the team I just don’t think it was as talented as a lot of people thought, especially the media which for some reason was trying to diminish what Tom did when he got there. I’ve seen teams over come average QB play.

The assumption is that he has to build in a new org. If he went to the Chargers, he has less building to do than he has here now. Same if McDermott gets fired and goes to the Bills. And I think he would jump at having carte blanche if Daboll gets ****canned and he can go back to his beloved Giants. He'd probably love the idea of going back "home", getting the record there, and then getting to do a rebuild to potentially be competitive and send them off on a high note.
His best chance at a complete an utter rape fest would be going to the Jets. They'd romp with BB, Rodgers, and the rest of the talent on that team.

I agree.

To be clear, Winston and Mayfield aren't average. They are bad. I agree that an average QB can lead you to wins. Half of the SB QBs in the last 20 years have been average.

the fact that curran is repeating it in every show today likely means he is confident in his source.

Dont be sad its over, be happy that it happened. Think of the Rams SB, the Ravens comeback, the safety win in Denver, 28-3, the SB win over Philly, the 2017 AFC champ. against the Jags, Seahawks SB...and on and on and on. The times you were sitting in the man cave at the bar and you thought, 'man we are in tough - it was a good year' and time and again Tom and Bill and the cast pulled it out. Just incredible the memories.

If he goes, it was a hell of a ride with him as the HC....

And we knew it couldn't last forever, it lasted longer than a lot of us thought.

Remember when it was him or Dom Capers at that point I was pleading for us to get Bill.
Now for me it’s Ben Johnson, Kevin Patullo, Wes Welker.
Or poach someone on the niners staff.
We need a real GM is the first thing.
I got a feeling it’s going to be Mayo and honestly unless your pairing him with a Josh Mcdaniels or a young offensive mastermind I hate it,
If we run it back with Mayo and Obrein we haven’t learned anything.

Bob is in a bad situation. He's going to have high picks and tons of cash. It wouldn't make sense to keep Bill, let him pick the players only to let him go after his contract runs out in 2024 assuming no improvements are made. Now the new coach may have nothing to work with. Bob is going to have to really consider trading Bill in the offseason so he won't pay two salaries. If there are no takers, Bob will have to bite the bullet, move on from Bill, hire a new coach and pay Bill's 2024 salary.

I now remember the Dom Capers scenario, forgot all about it.

If they bring in a new GM who’s to say he will want Mayo as his coach, unless it’s something he agrees to before taking the position.

I believe Winston had good offensive stats but as someone mentioned earlier he just couldn’t stop throwing it to the other team.
