In fairness to them, they're all battling to stay afloat in a world where insightful X's and O's articles don't garner the same attention, and pageviews, and such are becoming more and more difficult to come by.
Without people reading, nobody can survive. So it's a fine line they're all trying to walk where opinion pieces outperform intelligent posts significantly. I can speak for that here based on the data I've seen. Just a bad time all around and they're all trying to keep their collective heads above water.
The only exception is Reiss, but he's also under the umbrella of the World Wide leader so he's safer than most in that regard. That and he's since started holding significant bits of information for his Sunday column, which also now makes it a must-read.
