Is Belichick still a great coach or did Belichick “ruin” Mac Jones?

Did I say he was a game manager from 2001-2006? I would say he started to be elite around 2004.

And did I game manager beyond 2001?

I am glad the Brady cult comes out of the woodwork when someone doesn't admit that brady was the GOAT from the second he stepped on the field after the Mo Lewis hit on Bledsoe.

People were debating who should start in the Super Bowl against the Rams between Bledsoe or Brady that year. I thought it was a silly not to go back to Brady, but stop acting like everyone thought he was this great QB right off the bat.

I love Brady, but I don't look at him as some mythical figure like you guys do.
TD leader in 2002. 3rd MVP voting in 2003. Now take his supporting cast into context.

Pats fans should not regurgitate hot take artists crap that Brady was a manager for years. That should be reserved for ignorant non Pats fans who should know better.

So you are going to go there? I kinda figured that would be your stance. You fit that mold 1,000%.
Oh sorry. I hate offending people and thought it was a joke. I didn’t realize you’re actually an obese transgendered man.

You can't dismiss the unreasonables. That's why he was more than other "good" quarterbacks. I remember Terry Bradshaw in 2003. He said "He's already in the Hall of fame. He just needs career" It was always in him.

He had the tools to make him the best in the NFL. Doesn't mean he had it all put together from day one. I agree that what Brady special was always in him. He just needed time for it all to come together. It took Manning years. Took guys like Steve Young years. Joe Montana his first year was mediocre. Elway was not great until his third year as a starter. The only guy I can really remember who came out of the gate as elite was Marino.

Eli Manning is going to get into the HOF. Of course Brady would have gotten into the HOF if he had three rings.

I should have said 2003 if I said 2004. But that isn't because Brady necessarily couldn't have done more. It was what the offense asked him to run. They ask him to win many games for them and let the defense shut down opposing offenses and asked Brady and company to be efficient.

And calling a game manager or a system QB isn't meant to be an insult. He was very good at running the offense from day one. He just was asked to let the defense win games. Unfortunately, that is how Belichick still looks at football. He wants his defenses to win games and the offense to be efficient and not make turnovers. It just doesn't work in 2023 anymore.
Ideally enough people who matter soon see how your absolutely ****ty ****ing takes, combined with your mind-numbingly boring ass personality, is a massive liability, and just get rid of you.

Everything you type makes everyone too young to have watched those games misinformed and stupid. You're a literal ****ing cancer no matter how much your cringey fat ass plays the soyboy diplomacy card. When was the last time you said anything that was actually ****ing right? lol

I think his point is if Bill developed Brady then he should have no problem developing Mac and others into HF QBs.

The notion that a coach can develop a player, let alone a QB, into a HF player is absurd.
Clearly, the player has to have the drive, the physical gifts, the mental ability and the stamina to see it through. Brady had all of it plus more. Mac has none of those gifts at this point.

2002 was a down year for TDs. Brady had 28 TDs that year. And they had no running game that year. The offense was awful that year and not because Brady.

And the Patriots had something like five games where they didn't score a TD in 2003.

I am not trying to talk down Brady. I am really not. I don't think a game manager is a negative term.

His "tools" were internal. I think we're quibbling over what we consider elite

Apparently, you wish I was for some reason.

This is like saying you “don’t think getting carried by your defense is necessarily a bad thing.” Just STFU. Everything you say is absolute astonishing levels of cringe.

I think one of his greatest tool was never being satisfied with what he was and always worked harder to make himself great. I don't know how that could be any less in internal.

I don't think you are actually elite until you produce like an elite player on the field. He certainly was one of the more clutch QBs from day one.

Nice to see you walking back all your ********.

I have never met @Rob0729 but I don’t picture him as fat and I am super confident he is not trans… and I know A LOT of trans people, somehow.

@sb1, I apologize to you for my comments the other night.

I said that is how Belichick coached. That isn't a swipe at Brady. That is how Belichick wanted to win. It was always defense first until around 2004 when they got Corey Dillon and they had the most balanced team (offense and defense) in the Brady/Belichick era.

Yeah, I’m sure Belichick told the team “we want to win on defense and hopefully Tom just doesn’t **** up.”

Wrong. Elite or HF players are made of different stuff and they would achieve their success regardless of the coach. This is not a slight on Bill either.

Listen to players like Brady, Reed, Manning, Ray Lewis, Sanders, Sharp and countless others. Then listen to players who were merely "good" like Dominic Foxworth, Ryan Clark, Ninkovitch, Jennings... the way they speak about mentality, desire, work ethic, drive. It is light and day and very clear to see the difference.

This extends to outside football too. I watch a lot of soccer and the way great players vs good players think and speak about the game is very similar to what I said above. The very best are built different and they have qualities that are self engraved that drive them to excellence regardless of the circumstances.

Well, it is the holiday season. So I don't know if I can say I am thin right now.

Belichick can still coach. Even he can't win with an incompetent QB. Mac has been visibly broken since the Buffalo wind game. Don't no why but it happened.
Mac is a petulant pud.

Rob referring to Tom ****ing Brady as a “game manager” or idiots saying he wasn’t elite until 2007 should be considered derailing a thread, because only low T **** Pats fans will be willing to listen to it.
