And they went 16-0 and went to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2004.

They weren't breaking the bank on offense so that's a moot point. Their offense had nothing to do with Bill's inability to stabilize the defense until 2013. The 10 year drought happened because of poor personnel moves and the Pats flat out choking in big games.
The facts are that the Patriots had the greatest run of success for 20 years during the salary cap era. It is crazy to think that the team that has won the most super bowls during that era should have won twice as many. Even with the most talent on paper is not a given. There have been many, many all time greats who have helped the team during that time. Some, like Logan Mankins, did not win a super bowl. Clearly you do not place the same level of importance on the good years as the years where the team fell short. I get it that BB is a prick to the media and makes decisions that others don't understand. He is still the GOAT coach and you should find a new team to be a fan of until the he retires.

NOTE: crying about unrealistic expectations does not make you a rainmaker.

I bet he is the only coach who would have thought last seasons offensive coaching fiasco was a good idea….

We likely never will know for sure, but I suspect Patricia/Judge was his Plan C or D after much better options fell through.

We lost to a better team. It really is that simple. MIA will be is a playoff team that is likely to win the division.

We've been a 50% team since Brady left. Folks thinks that this means that we should trade all our players. My guess is that over the past four years, half the teams in the NFL are 50-50 teams.

It takes a bit of time to build a team. We are not entitled to more SB wins. 12 teams have never won a SB. We're just a bunch of spoiled fans. Everyone believes that Brady was the reason we won, and that we had little talent when he left. OK. So, it takes time to build, PLUS a team has to be very lucky in order to get a top QB.
============================
My BOTTOM LINE is that of we had no injuries at OL, we'd likely be competing for the playoffs, especially if we had one of Judon or Gonzalez. I don't think that we should sell or cut almost the entire team because we had OL injuries and injuries to Judon and Gonzalez. And just BTW, we hav the worst or close to the toughest schedules in the NFL.
=======================
ENOUGH RANTING FOR TODAY!
My real bottom line is that this team could be competing for the playoffs next year with no changes other than extending all of our free agents and drafting a QB in the first round and a couple of OT's in the early rounds. If this analysis is even close to right, then this team is far from being the worst team in the league. We are an average, a 50% team. If we find a QB, we'll be in the playoffs regularly. That is better than most teams.
Nice post. One bottom line qualifier is that all teams have injuries. The OL injuries for the Pats exposed the fact that the QB and WR are not mentally tough enough, or talented enough to overcome the adversity and stay competitive while things worked themselves out.

I differ with some of you guys in that I think there are plenty of good players on this roster. The problem is a black hole at quarterback and lousy coaching. I suppose the coaching might improve, don't know. This quarterback won't.
Don't know if I agree, but I would like to know what is your plenty.

I would definitely hear offers for EVERYBODY. I wouldn't right-out bust **** wide open and fire sale, but if someone would trade a 1st (heck, maybe even a high 2nd( for Judon, for example... I would think about it, honestly.

That is, not considering how well we are going to use our future assets anyway...

It’s incredible that you have a rookie QB contract, are in year 4 of a “rebuild,” have the second oldest roster, have almost no young assets or trade-able players, and are 2-6. It takes some genius.

Not that I didn't love your comment, but most of our older guys are in one or 2 year deals, so it's not as bad as it looks on that side..

The part is trully awful is that we have very **** young core.

I mean do you want to compare a sample size of 137 vs 20.
I’m just curious why we don’t include the games without Brady while he was with the patriots. It couldn’t be because Bill has a winning record in those games right?

Pretty accurate.

The problem with these comps are this.

If you took any NFL fan and said these are the top WR's and RB's of these nameless QB;s

QB A: AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Deandre Swift
QB B: Tyreek Hill, Jalen Waddle, Raheem Mostert
QB C: Kendrick Bourne, Devanta Parker/Hunter Henry (honestly whoever the **** you want at 2) and Rhaomndra Stevenson

Is there any person who is knowledgeable about the NFL that isn't going to look at QB C and laugh at that line up in comparison?

Want me to try to find your IP for you to understand how ugly things can get, even in the internet?

Kidding, kidding, i don't do this stuff. The real talk is that, even though we are users here, behind the screen there is a flesh and blood human, and those can be finnicky, some more than others
right and people need not to get so worked up about stuff...be it Patriots or politics... like, seriously, get a life folks

I hate watching Mac. The reason people liked Zappe is he’d at least attempt to throw for first downs and make higher risk throws. Mac is such a ****y as he appears content throwing well short of the target like he did his “job” knowing there’s almost no way the WR will actually pick it up.
We are three years in and the guy has no leadership abilities. It’s time.

I’m just curious why we don’t include the games without Brady while he was with the patriots. It couldn’t be because Bill has a winning record in those games right?
I mean there's been a lot of people over the last few years that just want to use Bill's record when Brady was still here.

If you combine absolutely everything it's 82-92 or a .471 winning percentage. He's just not a good coach when you take out Brady from his resume.

right and people need not to get so worked up about stuff...be it Patriots or politics... like, seriously, get a life folks
Maybe maybe not but there are still rules and without them this place would go crazy
