I believe
@upstater was looking at Thornton's routes in the Raiders game and quoted some specific examples, like the holding play across the middle where Thornton broke through the hold and was open for a TD (Mac never delivered the ball). If you look at the All22, Thornton is open a lot. Parker is not. Mac rarely throws to Reagor or Thornton - I am not sure why. Opposing defenses are playing to stop the run and pass blitz so the middle of the field is open behind the LBs. Mac finally started making those MOF throws against the Bills. Let's hope Mac continues to feel comfortable and starts making deep middle and deep sideline passes. Opponents are risking 1-on-1 in those areas and Mac does not capitalize. Maybe he will start against the Dolphins.
Mac gets frustrated with a porous line, and I would expect the guys running deep overs and flies are frustrated too because Mac never throws the ball to them, or if Mac does the ball is unplayable. The only exception is the deep ball to Parker which was perfectly thrown and Parker dropped.
