Could be. We will see. Mahomes SB OL was a lot worse than the Pats OL for the first 6 games. I think it is all in Mac's head, and if the OL improvement fixes Mac's head, then I am all for it.
I don’t think it was worse tbh. But yes, the play of the OL will have a much bigger cost/benefit with Mac than with most QBs for many reasons. He can do very well if he has a running game, time and isn’t living in 3rd and 6-12 with poor pass blocking and needing to scramble around, and most critically think on his feet.

Brady didn't learn to do this until after the ACL tear against KC. He said as much. It was then that he made it a point to learn how to "roll with the punches" as they say.. He stated that he went out of his way to learn the art of falling... So that he could not tense up and not get injured as much..
Unfortunately I was at that game. I kinda thought I remember him doing this in his third year ? Could be wrong. But I definitely noticed it early enough in his career. Another thing was his “slide” in the pocket, it was subtle but effective.

UP

BB he still can bring a defensive game plan.

DOWN

Carter can't defend him anymore.

Agreed but that is what Mac is supposed to be good at.

Dugger will not make more than 6 million AAV.

Yes or no. Is Dugger at top 10 safety in the league?

If yes, then he's looking at 12-15M.

If you feel he's not top 10, but top 15, you're still looking at 10-12M.

That's what a cursory glance at the Salaries for Safeties is at in the league..

No it isn’t. No one ever suggested his strength is improvising.
His strength is supposed to be understanding the design and objective of the play, recognizing what the defense is doing and decisively carrying it out.
When the play breaks down, he is at his weakest, and I can’t believe you think that was a perceived strength.

I am too. This is why I supported Mac for the 1st 2 years. I will only say though that the playoffs are a different thing, and even the best OLs get tested. I always worry that these tendencies will rear their head at the worst possible moment.

This isn’t a lie.
Neither is this:
2-1 in the division. We run the East.
Nice 4QC / GWD by Mac against a good team. There's hope.
The breaks went our way which didn't in earlier games.

Belichick's refrain: "Clean up our mistakes, we give ourselves a chance to win."
Let the celebrating begin
This win was very Parcellsian. The Giants had some pitifully ugly clunkers in the early 80's, but would respond with focus on the fundamentals.

And: the defense stepped up with guys out with injuries.

It will be interesting to see if they can sustain this effort into the next game.

BTW Jones looked good.

Agreed. That was a joke. The kind of joke where I slightly twist what was said. I should have known those type of jokes are not your strength.

Missed the end of course my plane was taking off exactly at the 2 minute warning. LoL
Happy they won. McDermott and Allen are insufferable.

No I don’t get the joke where you say something but without giving any indication mean something else. Especially hard to decipher in writing, from a stranger. But yeah blame me.

IMO there is an interesting dynamic going on here. Dugger isn’t having the same impact as last season but most of that is because he is somewhat playing out of position now…probably closer to FS. Now Peppers is getting those snaps closer to the LOS and making plays which Duggar would normally get. If that’s the case…then it seems to be benefiting the D but is hindering Duggers chances at a bigger payday in the future which only benefits the Patriots.

Thanks. The time provided by the OL helped, for sure. But there have been slants and throws down the middle all year, and Mac did not execute those plays previously. Note that quick slants and middle of the field passes are easier than the sideline passes. Why did it change today? I am not good enough to answer that, but it is not only on the OL. Mac matured and held his nerve. Part of his positive outlook was the OL, Mac said so in his post game interview. But with football it is never one thing.
I am not sure why folks are giving you a hard time, you are 100% on point and I agree with your everything you've said throughout. Mac was bad in most prior weeks outside of week 1 and most of week 2, the team struggled on offense. Mac was great today, the team put up almost 30 points and beat a top AFC team. This shows that it's not so much about "Mac has nothing around him, Mac has no weapons, Mac can't cook with garbage" but rather "if Mac steps up, the team can succeed".

Dugger is a very good player and he's going to get paid near the top of the market for his position. He didn't have a good game, it happens. We saw Poyer get juked out of his shoes by Douglas today, they all miss plays.

Brown was injured which apparently you are celebrating.
Not at all. I was being snarky about all the posters on here that keep hating on Brown, saying they finally got what they wanted when Lowe replaced him. Sorry if that didn’t come across clearly.

Ryland has sucked up until today

Ryland hasn't even really sucked. 2 of his misses came on a 48 yarder and 57 yarder that were bad snap exchanges in rainy weather and the 57 yarder was with 5 seconds to go in the 1st half so it was more of just a hail mary try to get points situation. Bad snap exchanges aside he's 8/10

So Onwenu at RT was the missing piece.
Yes, Onwenu and Brown being healthy with Lowe sitting made the difference.

BTW, check out what happened when Lowe played a series: immediate disaster. Lowe was called for a penalty in his 1st play, and it went downhill until Brown came back in.
