Report: Kraft has had discussions about potentially moving on from Belichick

Totally agree .. even a blind squirrel gets a nut every once in awhile.
I watched a squirrel devour a sparrow on my deck. I never knew that they ate birds. He sat there holding the bird and ate every speck of him from his head down. I called my wife over to see it so it would help me get rid of the bird feeder. It worked. My only regret is that I couldn't get a video of it.

That I agree with. Bill was content to offer Brady 1 year deals at half market value. Brady wanted 2 years at still way below value and Bill decided no. Brady decided he was done begging for a contract every year and left. Belichick was ok with that.

Kraft signed off on all this. He may not have liked it but he agreed with Bill either because he thought Brady was past it or because he thought Brady was near done and did not want to lose Bill over that. He essentially chose Bill.

They did not even talk contract till Brady announced he was leaving which was pure PR. Nobody just ignores their free agent starting QB, not even talk to him and let him talk to other teams unless they wanted him gone.

Anyone who can't see this is how things went down is simply delusional.

It may have been Bill's call but Kraft 100% blessed it. So he can't now just lay the blame at Bill's feet only.

All this after I said I won't rehash this. Now I will stop.
This totally disregards the fact that Brady showed up on Stephen Ross's yacht before the 2019 season.

In retrospect, this duplicates what happened with Parcells in 1995. He met with the Jets prior to the season, then he went to Kraft and asked for contract changes that would reduce his buyout to one year.

From then onward, the media has repeated that Parcells left because Kraft wouldn't but him the groceries. No one mentions that Parcells deliberately planned to leave a full year before he jumped ship. Would you let someone pick your franchises future players when he has already made his plans to leave?

I have no doubt that Brady's appearance on Ross's boat will be disregarded.

Shaka, when the walls fell

Just in general.

I guess worse things could happen than being told that as far as the Pats are concerned he can spend the rest of his life on Holliday...

put it this way, if his name wasnt Bill belicheck.

would anyone on this board be screaming for the coach/GM to be retained after the last 5 years of results?

You got some hardcore squirrels! They city or country squirrels? I had a squirrel square up on me in Franklin square in Boston few years ago, wouldn’t back down. Friend of mine laughs, says, “that thing deals with junkies all the time, it ain’t scared of you”..

If Tom Brady could be offered 1 year below market deals at the end and pushed out the door because of perceived future performance due to his age.

Why should Bill get different deference? All I hear is about the last 20 years and his history.

Where was that with Brady? We could've easily kept him until he was 45.

Couldn't say it any better!

I don't think it is. I believe Sean Payton was traded to Denver? As even though he stepped away from coaching he was still under contract with NO. I want BB to coach this team, but he Cleary needs more help with personnel than Matt groh. In past seasons he'd always have someone on deck be it mike Lombardi or some else that could identify talent.

BB has taken on alot of responsibility over the years. He's in his 70s.. things should be alot easier than it is now. No team always hits on draft picks.. but we just flame out at WR. I believe if we are able to get the right talent at the skill positions and solidify the O line we would be much, much better. The O line was one of the NFLs best in 2021.

Agreed. Brady was so much more to the organization than just a player, he was the face of the organization, the lure for FAs. He was the reasons sponsors like Gillette and others wanted to partner with the organization. He was just a generational, humble superstar. I've said personally I can see the team trading BB rather than just firing him out right.

Put the spiked Kool aid down now holy...that would be my Worse nightmare. I don't want BB shopping for the groceries from now on.
I dont want him doing the shopping either. That’s just how I see it going down. Level heads prevail. No rushed moves etc… when in reality, something shouldve been in the works personnel wise for several years now.

I remember Curran reported that RK said the drafting has been a " collaborative " effort in recent years as well as the personnel decisions.. the damages were really done to the state of the team last season.. we should at least be where the jags are right now.. so I agree. The team's going to have to bring in someone as a consultant like Rick Spielman or Mike Tannenbaum someone that knows how to identify talent and know how speak up and not be a yes man to BB.

Well, I wouldn't want Dabol...
Kidding me.. I'd take him in a heart beat.. he knows how to fix QBs.. he fixed Daniel jones for at least 1 season. We all know what he did for allen..

I want someone who is young, blazingly smart, very focused on X's and O's, passionate about and involved with the cutting edge of football matters, and authoritative on the basis of what he knows rather than because he is adept at all the backlapping jockcentric horseshit or, as with Bill, at the mean daddy shtick. I'd rather take a chance on someone unproven but brilliant than take on some proven mediocrity. In a word, I hope we can find our own Mike McDaniel.

I do as well. However something tells me we'll be stuck with BB next season. Likely I can see him saying to RK.. we were decimated by injury, the injuries on the Offensive line is why we struggled.. allow
me more season to correct this... that would pretty much be a hamster on a wheel..
