Report: Kraft has had discussions about potentially moving on from Belichick

Following this team's moves the past 4 years will kinda do that to ya.
In my humble opinion Billy doesn’t relate to the new generation. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the Prima Dona position has switched from QB to wide receiver in the last few years. Now instead of dealing with one or two on a team, the league is full of them. Over paid and under producing. Overvalued. Plus the contact rules during practices have made many players weak. Mentality and physically. This isn’t our dads football game anymore …

If I can expand in my earlier reply to raduray, I don't believe the media is the conduit to the fans anymore, like it was when we relied on daily newspapers. There's plenty of content available where you can get information. I don't have a problem with him not answering lazy reporters questions. He's not going to give any bulletin board material, or any other info that could be used by future opponents. So that means sometimes he will be evasive in answers, give non-answers or coach-speak. We've seen how innocuous statements like Brady telling Harbaugh in the media that the Ravens "better learn the rule book" get used against them when the Ravens then dropped a dime to the Colts on the BS air pressure in balls thing. I think the media's agenda is to sell clicks, and there's no Will McDonoughs in the world anymore. Now it's a race to be first, and, as I said earlier, too much "gotchya".

So, yeah, I don't have a problem with how he handles it, most of the time. I have barked at the TV occasionally after big losses when I am mad and want answers, but I get why he does what he does. I can live with it, and I certainly don't want to fire him because his the polar opposite of Bill Parcells to the press.
Why does Bill do what he does with the media? I'd like to know that.

The media is to the Patriots' fans what Bill allows them to be. He should be smart enough to do it. Every other coach in the NYFL has figured it out.

But that isn't why I don't want him here. The reason is the losing and lack of players. Whatever he may have been in the past he's far from that now. As he'd be the first to say and do, better too early than too late, and too late already left the barn.

My main reaction to it all ... conundrums aside ...
To me he has lost the locker room. Coaches almost always get canned for that ...
excellent coaches at that ... happens in hockey regularly ... Guys are playing for each other IMO.

Bill's philosophy has always been about playing the percentages; both in coaching and drafting.

That works when your team plays disciplined mistake free football and you either get up early or have a fear factor (Brady) that makes teams over compensate to either catch up or to keep a safe distance if they lead and therefore make mistakes as they push the envelope. One thing we were always good at was capitalizing on others mistakes. Almost every turnover became a TD.

That type of football does not allow for mistakes or mediocre execution. Same with drafting. I think last draft I was super happy with was the Jones/Hightower because we traded up for elite talent instead of trading down and trying to hit with percentages.
