Making a decision tonight is bad business, let's see how next week plays out. We're all pissed at the showing tonight but let's see what next week brings. RK won't make any rash decision, he never has and has made him a billionaire, but the thought has to have crept into his mind that it might be time to let Bill go.

I'd give BB honestly 4 more seasons to drastically change things. See what a new qb could do into their 2nd year etc. Beyond that would be a total change. I wouldn't want any coach that knows BB in any meaningful way to be part of a new staff.

My opinion is has he lost the locker room ...
I think he has ... most coaches get fired for this ...

But this is a HOF coach ...

Kraft has one of his most difficult professional decisions in his life.
Or perhaps the most difficult decision of his professional life.

I'm gonna give him 6 SB ring chances per non playoff season. He's down 2 (2020, 2022), so 4 more to go. If someone wants to count 2000 and 2008, go knock yourself out, so that'd be after next year if the records are especially egregious.

4 more seasons ?

4 more games maybe ???

Was this satire ?

I'll put it this way. I'm a Star Wars fan (or, I was). George Lucas did the prequels which were awful. The main reason was that he surrounded himself with people who didn't challenge him like they did in the old days. It's the same with the Pats. BB has been the head honcho for a long long time (even by NFL standards). He's surrounded himself with people who don't challenge him...not really. You can look to the "kiss the rings" crowd like Thornton but the truth is, he's too comfortable. No one is pushing him. He wants to catch Shula but right now. With this team (injuries aside), it's not happening. It's tough, I know. The game has changed. There is no "We're on to Cincinnati". The team is what the team is and your record says what you are....At the bottom with the Jets.

Does he need to go? That's a hard question. Right now....I'd say yes. Who do you replace him with? I don't know. Will there be pain for us Pats Fans in the future? Most definitely. But for those who remember, that was the natural state of the franchise before Bledsoe/Tuna. We're probably heading into the wilds again.

I personally think he used up his Super Bowl cache on the Patricia debacle. Any other coach would have been fired after that move. Andy Reid got fired from the Eagles after making an OC a DC.
I’d have to agree. Doesn’t look like the change to BoB has drastically improved the offense. Talent level isn’t where it needs to be.

You know what’s amazing. The Star Wars sequels are worse than the prequels

I have faith in the Krafts that they will spend what they need to get the best talent to run this organization after Belichick. My faith may be misplaced, but right now I think they care too much about the Patriots brand to cheap out like the Sullivans, be idiots like Kiam, or be an absentee owner like Orthwein (although he did hire Parcells to make the Patriots more attractive to be sold).

My vote is to let the season play out with BB as coach and then give him a choice - retire or be let go.

You thank him for his services. Enshrine him into the team hall of fame. Have a bb appreciation halftime but you got to take away the keys.

Blaming Belichick for Mac Jones being terrible is even worse than thinking it was more Belichick than Brady.

One dumb take deserves another.

If Belichick knew Mac was terrible and he didn’t try to get the best talent available to minimize his terrible play, that is even more damning to Belichick. If you think you have one of the worst QBs in the league, you want to give him a line that allows him to eat a sandwich during the play before he throws the ball and receivers who can’t be covered. You don’t give him a crap o-line and a bunch of slow #2-3 quality receivers. It would only exploit how bad your QB is and lose you games.

You are making a strong argument for Belichick to be fired.

Look at the Dolphins. They know Tua is a limited QB. And they surround him with top talent and a lot of speed to hide his deficiencies.

Because of Kraft’s age, he’s not going to want to risk a new staff with an unknown Coach.

If I were Kraft, I’d have a long conversation with Bill on why he needs to make some drastic changes.

I’d want a GM. This would be non negotiable. His team building has been next level bad since 2020. Bill can still have a final say like Shanahan has over Lynch, but someone needs to challenge him with who they take in the draft, FA, etc. Bill brought in his best players when he had experienced guys like Pioli and Reese there.

The staff needs a real offensive coordinator who is up to the trends with the current NFL and can identify talent that would fit his scheme. Bill’s philosophy on offense is horribly outdated.

As much as I don’t like Bill’s sons on staff or even Mayo, I’ll have to give him this if he agrees to the other two above.

Kraft is going to have to make a tough decision because Bill will not want to change.

I don’t think we can rule out that BB’s ridiculous coaching experiment last season destroyed whatever this kid might have had.
