Just for the record, my fear is that some very bad football in a very small period of time will torpedo this team's chance for 19-0. The most likely time for this to happen is Sunday against the STeelers, because they ARE good, and we ARE tired, as Belichick admitted.

Coming off a Monday night game that was a thriller to the end, we're even more depleted.

The main reason I voice this is because from a certain point of view, a lousy, stinking 20 minutes of bad football kept the 2004 Patriots from being undefeated. Specifically, the first quarter of the STeelers game (that ended the 21 game win streak), and the last 5 minutes of the Miami game, in which a Keystone Kops like comedy of errors resulted in a loss to a pathetic Miami team. It's easily the worst 5 minutes of the Belichick era.

Anyway, I'm predicting that regardless of the regualr season results the bye week and HFA will rejuvenate the team and that we'll take the crown, absent serious injury, but I'm worried that we're going to have another moment like the two above-mentioned games, and that it could doom our chance for perfection.

Don't you have some towels to be weaving? You lost to the JETS! :singing:

That's right, we lost to the Jets.

Q. What does that game have to do with Sunday?

A. Nothing. Let me repeat that for you... NOTHING.

To me it's more about more than wins and losses when judging a game, it's about how the teams are playing... over the past two weeks you're not playing much better than we are, if any better at all.

Combined record of the teams the Steelers have lost to: 14-22.

The record of the NE Patriots: 12-0

That's only two wins less than three teams combined....

Last three weeks:

Patriots: Blowout win against Bills in Buffalo, squeak by Eagles at home and squeak by the Ravens in Baltimore.

Steelers: Loss to Jets in NY, squeak by the 0-12 Dolphins at home and beat up on the Bengals at home.

I'd say we've pretty much they cancel each other out, with us having a slight advantage because we played tougher opponents and won every game.

I only see this game going three ways. It's going to either be a close win by us or you guys, or a convincing victory by the Patriots (only if they get their act together).

You guys are a riot... I'm not overconfident by any means, I know the odds of us winning are not great.

Some teams matchup well with others, despite their record. Just like boxing... If you and I fight, and you're 12-0 and I'm 0-12, and we fought the same people, does that mean you're going to win? No. Football, much like boxing, is all about style and matchups. I do think our style matches up favorably to the Patriots, but we'll have to wait and see.

The whole "We beat them and they beat you" argument is pathetic... come up with something better please... I want to talk football, not nonsense theories you have. Belichick would even laugh at your theory, that's how bad it is.

Maybe that's what Belichick thinks... they lost to the Jets... this will be an easy one. C'mon guys, try to be realistic.

HFA? Don't you mean HGH?

That's right, we lost to the Jets.

The Jets loss by the Steelers is far more relevant than the HGH you made your snide comment about, so either take the heat or get the hell out of the kitchen.

The HGH comment was a joke junior. You can stop pounding your chest now. Explain to me how the Jets game is relevent... this should be good.

Do you really care if we go 19-0?
If we lose a game or two out of our last 4 regular season games, I could not care less.
BB will have the team ready to go in the Playoffs.
An undefeated season is not the prize. A Superbowl win is.

I guess next you're gonna tell us to throw out the Miami game because your owner refuses to put in field turf. Isn't that right BOY? :bricks:

Regarding that Steelers game...the Pats stunk for 60 minutes. The 34-20 score was deceivingly close. After the Steelers jumped out to the huge halftime lead, they ran the ball down the Pats' throats in the 2nd half. They had several clock-chewing drives. They ended the game running out the last several minutes and took a knee on the Pats' 8 yard line. If the Steelers tried harder to score instead of killing clock and making the clock the Pats' main opponent, they very well may have put up more points.

I just want to dispell the thought that it was only the 1st quarter of that game that kept the Pats from being undefeated. The other three quarters were not pretty at all.

Regards,
Chris

You sir, are lost. Once again, is that what your coach and team thinks? Easy win because they barely beat Miami? How does that translate to a Pats "W" on Sunday? Get some perspective. Please.

Is it me or do most Steelers fans who've come this week seem very angry? Has anyone else noticed the false "tough-guy" personna? The only other "visitors" I've seen like this were the Eagles fans who came...and went.

What's up with these wannabee's?

Your right! Just like our last 2 games shouldn't give Steelers fans any more hope than they had 4 weeks ago. There is one thing we can all agree upon and that is the Steelers are up against the best quarterback ever in Brady and quite possibly the greatest NFL coach of all time this Sunday...

God knows we can ALL agree upon that!

Nice contribution. I'm certainly not angry, we're having a good year. It's December and we're still in this thing... I'm happier than a pig in sh_t thank you.

You know, I think you're right. Thankfully the Patriots got revenge in the AFCCG and forced thousands of Steeler fans to fill their terrible towels with tears.

You guys remember, don't you? How we spanked and embaressed them in front of their children all day long...yeah, that was really nice.

Any fan who has the privelage of visiting our board and brings up asterisks or HGH at this point in this great Patriots season can only be doing because they are angry...whether you deny it or not...YOU ARE ANGRY.
