Unless something happens today, I'm going to guess that the injuries to Godchaux and Ekuale are such that they won't miss any time. Otherwise, I think we'd have seen the Pats make a move on the PS yesterday to bring back Carl Davis or to add another big body.

Update: Looks like Ekuale suffered a Torn Bicep.. Wonder what the Pats will do..

Reports are Ekuale has a torn bicep so he’s prob done for the year.

Hopefully Godchaux isn't out for long. I wonder if Trey Flowers could step in after PUP this week or if he'll need more time? He could be a decent replacement for Ekuale's role if he still has something left in the tank.

Saw a tweet that Carl Davis is on Seattle PS, he could be signed to our active roster.

How is Flowers (6'3-265lbs) a replacement for Ekuale (6'3-310lbs) ??

Davis is more of a NT than he is a Pass rushing DT..

I honestly expect the Pats to bring in 2 DTs.. 1 for the "53" and one for the PS.

I'd kick the tires on :

Matt Ionnidas
Akeem Hicks

Hicks was signed to another 53 I forget who saw the tweet and seethed with regret and rage.

He remains unemployed, but Vikings fans have been begging for him so much that he tweeted a response. Not as much love from the people that actually make the decisions for the Vikings.

My bad, for some reason I always pictured him as closer to the 280-290 range. Still smaller than Ekuale, but when you're talking about a sub-rushing interior DL, 280 is big enough. Regardless, he's not even that, you're right, so moot point.

Have not seen much discussion about Vederian Lowe taking over at RT for Calvin Anderson and playing 100% of the snaps. I think he was a definite upgrade.

How much does Hicks have left in the tank? If he can take 1/4 of the D reps I'd sign him.

Lazard saw it differently:

Tough first start at right tackle for Vederian Lowe, who had the tougher matchups with John Franklin-Myers and Bryce Huff. Lowe allowed a team-high eight quarterback pressures (two QB hits, six hurries). He struggled to combat Franklin-Myers's two-hand swipe/power sequence, and Huff beat him with speed. Lowe has good hand power and grip strength, but he's hit or miss at the apex of the rush, where he either connects on his punch to stall the rush or gets blown by with a short corner due to stalled footwork. Lowe has better functional power than the Pats other options, but he has to keep his feet moving around the arc. They can live with drawn-out hurries around his edge, but getting beat on the inside spin on the Douglas deep ball likely cost them six points. Lowe improved in the running game as the game wore on, with some solid doubles with Onwenu.

He was fine last year, but nobody is going to pay him close to the $7.5M he got from the Bucs last year. Sometimes aging players just want to play for whatever money they can get (Jamie Collins made $350k last season), but usually they just fade into retirement rather than playing at a steep discount.

Hard to blame them. If they invested the money wisely, it's better than destroying what's left of their health.

Phil Perry just posted the Patriots DVOA numbers, 14th for offense and 13th overall.

Was curious if the new site has improved, have they added historical DVOA information yet? Was considering doing the stat based membership, but if it's limited to just current information I'll wait for Phil or others to post it on Twitter.

Collins is a weird example, I think in his case he just wanted to keep playing football. Flowers is kind of a similar case, he is getting very little money compared to his prior contracts.

They seem to be slowly adding in historical DVOA -- they go back to 2020 now.

The presentation is terrible compared to what FO did: no column headers when you scroll and an extra blank line inserted after every entry which makes no column headers when scrolled even more annoying.

They also appear to be adding back the missing categories as well -- Adjusted Line Yards was just added, as were the "Player DVOA" categories.

So slow progress, but it looks like they have rights to the whole database and are slowly restoring everything.
