It didn't because he got a ton in guarantees.

With that said some people aren't motivated by anything.

It’s a nice gesture after last week’s concussion cost him $88k for being inactive and probably the $500k that he could earn for either 95% snaps or making pro bowl. He just can’t realistically hit 95% anymore. Judon, who has the same agent, got these incentives in his new contract:
1. Snap count and playoffs
2. Pro Bowl and playoffs
3. All Pro
4. All Pro and playoffs

I think there’s a decent chance some of Brown’s new incentives have playoffs as a requirement too. So yeah, looks good on paper but he (they) would have to really earn it.

Brown has not been happy the last two season. This was incentive for him to get motivated to play and get his mind right. I was surprised they did not do it during TC when it was clear there was no help coming from anywhere else. I thought they were going to trade a WR for a Tackle, when that did not happen, I was wondering what the hell they were doing. With this, watch Brown run through walls.
