JETS SUCK 2023 EDITION (JOKER CERTIFIED): HARD KNOCKERS

I'm almost speechless about Rogers injury. It's absurd. I was hoping all the hype would crash on its head by them not being as good as ALL the media crowned them to be. But, not by a season ending injury in the first minute. I really feel for Aaron.

On the other hand, it's only positive for our Patriots. But, make no mistake, their D is serious.
And, another positive about the game - the Bills looked messy and vulnerable. Allen was a disaster. Horrible decisions, no discipline.
Patriots status suddenly got a lot better going into a divisional game. The division could easily be all tied at 1-1 by next Sunday.

Jets will be looking for another QB.

Trade Zappe?

This definitely stinks for the Jets but also the NFL in general.

As fans we were going to be in for a treat seeing Rodgers in the bright lights of the Big Apple with some bigtime matchups including two against our Patriots. As fans, I can certainly empathize with getting a 'shiny new toy' only to have it break right away.....remember Rosie Colvin in 2003? Was it the second game that he went down.....and we weren't even talking about a HOF QB like we are here.

Man, this stinks. You hate to see the stars of the NFL go down....it only diminishes he overall product and hype of the teams remaining games.

And on a side note....how about some tough luck for New York fans.

New Yorkers shelled out some good money to see Messi in his first regular season game (only to have him start on the bench).

Then New Yorkers shelled out some good money to see Rodgers' NY debut in prime time only to see him play 4 snaps (for their sake at least they won).

Punky, hard at work as usual, preparing for his post-game interviews.

More "tempting" than "intriguing" I think. Really can't tell much from Week 1 or 2 in the era of virtually no real, mandatory Training Camp and a 17 game season. Josh is not as bad as he looked, but the Jets D might be for real. Tough to see how the Pats compete with MIA, BUF and a decent Jets team, even without Rodgers.

That said, I like what I saw from the Pats on Sunday. Mac is still an unknown. If the throw that ended up OB on Fourth Down with the clock running down is thrown Brady-like into the one foot window that would have let the receiver get his foot down, the Pats were in striking distance of the endzone with time to win the game. I think we have to remember that Mac basically "lost" his opportunity to grow last season, so I'm ready to be patient even if the Pats end up 8--9 or so.
Yep. The Pats game was obviously a mixed bag, but there was I think more postive than negative, certainly in comparison with the disaster I worried the game might be. Regarding the Jets/Bills, both of them ended in the negative: the Jets because they lost their starting QB, the Bills because concerns about them and their QB were significantly confirmed. The consensus (not unreasonably) had been that the Pats were the worst in the division, but there's reason at least to hope they might not be. If we perform reasonably well against Miami, that would be an even more hopeful sign.

I give the Jets credit. They didn't give up, they played hard. They will still be a tough out regardless of who is QB.

I don't normally laugh at injuries but I just can't help it. It really was the perfect storm. Outside of the truly bad human beings that have come through the league like Tyreek Hill, Antonio Brown, and Leonard Little etc Aaron Rodgers may be one of the people I have disliked the most. And for it all to go down the way it did with him joining the team I hate most and all the pomp and circumstance along with all the NY/NJ tough guys bluster I'm sorry I just can't help but enjoy it.

I know there are a couple people on here that listen to the Around the NFL podcast and know that the main host, Dan Hanzus, is a huge Jets homer and a huge Patriots basher. He has openly reveled in any small failure that came upon us in the Brady era and gleefully recaps every loss in the post-Brady era. Hanzus also did a Hard Knocks recap podcast after each episode over the summer and gushed about how great the Jets are going to be and how they are going to win the Super Bowl. Currently I am listening to the Around the NFL recap podcast of last night listening to him completely devastated and I can't help but smile.

And y’all still almost made the playoffs at 11-5 I believe right? Missed out on a Tie Breaker
Brett Favre always annoyed me. Beat us in the Super Bowl when I was a kid. Cost us the tiebreaker in 02 when he got blown out by the Jets in week 17 then cost us the tiebreaker in 2008 when he was a Jet and couldn't beat the Dolphins in week 17.

We all get to watch plenty of Zach Wilson in prime time now.

There's going to be more flex scheduling than a bodybuilding contest.
Jets fans get doubly screwed. They lose all hope 4 plays into the season and now have to rearrange their plans for attending any of those games likely multiple times.

Is it possible to laugh at the circumstances surrounding the injury, rather than the injury itself?

-Fraudgers the "savior"
-The trade compensation
-Contract $$
-Hard knocks BS

All gone in the blink of an eye, on MNF, in front of the highest JETE attendence in history (I think?).

I thought Tyreek Hill was the only person I'd find myself "giddy" over an injury, but man, last night was entertaining. Still hope I wasn't laughing at the injury itself though.

It's par for the course.

They're sitting on a run of 12 years without making the playoffs and 54 since the post season exhibition that wasn't a super bowl.

They spent immense amount of capital (both cash and draft picks) for Darnit, McMilfson and Rodgers for each to become a major tragedy.

This is what Jete fans sign up for.

We try to warn them each and every year, but they come back for more.

It's on them!

Oh, there's this too. No caption needed.
OMG, is this blue-blood Woody trying to "let his hair down", or is this someone cosplaying Woody trying to "let his hair down"?

All of a sudden Krafty Bob visiting the Orchids of Asia doesn't seem so bad now.

I saw him on the broadcast last night and just shook my head.

I did not realize who the Jets play in Week 2. The goddamn Cowboys. Giddy up!
The huge 'gulp' you just heard came from JeteFan69 as he read your post.

The scream was him asking for another kick in the balls to go along with losing Rodgers and having to play the Cowboys D with McMilfson trying to run Snackit Hackett's offense.
