Interesting. I wouldn’t have predicted he’d go. I guess Roberts really is good to go for the 53.

Early release to catch on with another team?

this mean sam roberts or jeremiah pharms is sticking with the team?

It was sort of predictable after they took the Carolina NT.

Then I thought we were stuck with him.

Roberts for sure and he deserves it.

Daniels thinks that could be what it is.

I haven’t been paying close attention to Roberts and only started hearing his name around this last game. Is he that good?

I think Davis can help a team. I thought he had a shot at the initial 53. But, it’s not losing Wilfork in his prime or anything…. Classy BB for allowing him a head start. I hope it pans out for him.

The only problem with this is all players released from yesterday up until Tuesday clear waivers at the same time. Now maybe it gives teams a chance to work something out "just in case" but that's what I read yesterday.

Davis is a vested veteran (4+ years experience), so he’s not subject to waivers. Once his “release” is officially filed if it hasn’t already, he’s free to sign with any of the “other 31”.

True, I hadn't thought of that.

Not necessarily.

Roberts may indeed have played himself onto the roster.

Or Belichick has enough with Guy, Wise, Godchaux, Barmore, White and Ekuale.

Carl Davis in 2020 was meh…he didn’t play much either though. He was “ok” stopping the run in ‘21 and ‘22. It was clear he lost a step / motivation in camps and preseason.

It’s a passing league now and being “ok” at NT is good enough IMO. I do think they will sign someone who will be released or off a PS.

It will be interesting if they sign another fatty or not. I think we need a fatty for goal line stands. I agree that the fatty is a thing of the past, but there are special situations where a fatty is helpful.
