Firkser had a couple catches yesterday as well I think. More versatile at HB but Sokol is a better in-line blocker.
Thanks almost forgot about Firkser he can catch some. I think he's going to give us more than Jonno Smith did of course that won't be hard.

Not completely disagreeing, but we saw at least 2-3 Pats games decided last year by special teams. Granted, we sucked and needed special teams to bail us out of most games...

That's easily fixed: ****-can Myles Away, Demarcus Mitchell & Cant Assford... There that's better...

The problem with our Special olympics Teams isn't that we have too few STOs - it's that we have too Many of them, along with a Horrible STC.

Let’s talk about starting jobs after the first 2 preseason games.
It’s a process.
That being said I’m sticking with my prediction of finishing last in the AFC East.
Hard to blame anyone but the front office for not landing top tier offensive talent the last few years.

My new predictions

Jets
Dolphins
Bills
Pats

In that order.

Let the QB controversy begin…

And that what it might come down to Offensive Playmakers we are very paltry is that area.

So you want to wait until 2/3 of the preseason games to talk about starting jobs but lets talk about where the team is going to finish the season now?

Thoughts:

1.) I really like the fact that we only have 3 guys out so far in Onwenu, Davis, and Anderson with the latter only an "illness" vs. an injury. I can't remember the last time we started camp with so few players out, nobody holding out, and with everyone passing the conditioning test. We need all the reps we can get.

2.) The defense is clearly going to be elite.... I am still worried about losing D-Mac on the back end...he cleaned up a lot of mistakes over the years...we will just have to be sharper and communicate better. And I think our interior linebackers are the best we have had in years with Bentley and Tavai in the middle.... now if we can just get solid D-Line play from Godchaux, Guy, Barmore, et al.....we should be VERY VERY solid on defense....top 5 in the NFL at least.

3.) That being said.....I am not gonna worry about the offense until all the pads come on and the hitting starts....I can't wait for joint practices in Green Bay and Tennessee later in August...we should know more by then.

understanding that all 3 phases of the game have to be covered, it seems the league is making a strong case to de emphasize much of ST plays. yet the Pats insist on investing dollars in free agency and draft capital.
I like Davis. a lot. but Schooler, Board, maybe Heilig who we have been hearing a lot, Speed, Bolden, Bledsoe. should a roster spot go to a development player that could be more than a ST player?
Could it be that the coaches regard players as developmental prospects even though keyboard commentators have already consigned them to careers as ST only players? Just maybe?

Tyquan needs to get involved.

They have been working exclusively in the red zone though, not really Thornton's best spot to be used. Most of the targets are going to the big guys - the TEs, Parker, even JuJu who is only an inch or two shorter than Parker and has decent size.
