[Mod Edit:] Board Issues/Reaction Issues Thread

I can unequivocally say that Logan Mankins played no part in winning a championship.

The rest were as valuable as anyone though.
Are you from Jacksonville Florida?

I was speaking to the “bizarre polarization” point. People complained in the 2020 Tompa Whateveritwascalled thread. You created a sub-forum. You conceivably did this to try to please those people who complained about the main board being “cluttered.” What happened? They weren’t pleased. It wasn’t enough. It will never be enough for them because their problems aren’t a sub-forum or a thread or a rule change away from being fixed. It runs much deeper than that. So stop trying. You’ve given them everything they need.
It goes beyond “those people,” as many casual observers without an axe to grind were the people I had in mind - myself included - when that was done.

Regardless, and this is unrelated to your post, but the point in general is that the number one issue is that on every forum out there, derailing a thread with off-topic discussion is something that isn’t permitted.

I get people don’t like moderation, especially in this day and age. However, we’ve let organic conversations play out for quite a while but this is an issue that is specific to a small group of people, due to the fact they can’t help themselves.

I’ve asked nicely, I’ve had private discussions, and was instead forced to deal with it publicly in this thread. Clearly, I’m at the end of being nice.

No board wants threads frequently derailed. None. And elsewhere, repeat offenders are normally kicked out. I think it’s pretty well known that I’m fairly patient and dislike removing people. But if you’ve gotten this far under my skin and you’re not seeing there’s an issue, then I don’t know what else to tell them at this point.

Sure, half a year... you're constantly here telling us how you're never here posting.

I'll see you here tomorrow, at least if I check out the Brady pages.
See? Instead of asking yourself how you could be better around here, you’re lashing out at me. Like I said, that’s not introspection. You continue to prove my point for me.

You’re not a part of the problem. Everyone else is.

The amazing thing is that, if people use the ignore and mute functions as they are intended, the thread is no longer derailed for them. Poof. It just magically disappears.

Are you from Jacksonville Florida?
Nope. I'm in NH getting flooded at the moment.

I think Kontra was referring to himself as the douchebag from Jacksonville.

I am the ******* from NH.

That’s also why there is now one at the mod level, to split those off and let those conversations continue away from other people.

At the same time, just because you give people fire extinguishers, it’s not any less irritating when the same people keep lighting the match, which is the point I’m trying to get across to those who fall into that category.

The narcissistic douchebag from Jax Beach is indeed me.

I’m struggling with the realization that I made a reference from “The Departed” on a Pats message board and it sailed over @Wozzy’s head.

Well at least we can all admit we're opinionated a-holes.

The only difference is that my opinions are right.

But I love seeing everyone else here post their moronic wrong opinions.

That’s the nature of discussion, my friend. You’re not going to legislate that out of here. The only way you’re going to get rid of that is by closing the place down.

Work on yourself instead of trying to fix others. Admitting the problem is the first step.

I’m constantly working on myself. You need to, as a parent. You can’t do the job without constantly doing that. When someone gives you the gift of children, you’ll understand. I hear men can have children now, so your odds are improving every day.

Ian, if you need another moderator, I am here.

I am level headed, fair, and an all around good guy. Well, I'm a good guy.

Sort of.

Personally, I think Brady has better quotes about self improvement.

Crackheads and feral cats in the street have kids... it's a special gift though.

And because they never thought of improving themselves for their children’s’ sake, they suck at it. They’re bad parents, bad people, bad contributors to have on a Patriots message board. They’re a lot like you, in that regard - their problems are society’s fault. Not theirs. They are perfect in every single measurable way.

Again, moderation - and rules - exist for a reason . You’re implying there’s a bigger issue, when in fact, the problem is simply bringing up the same topic in every thread. This shouldn’t be that tough, yet, here we are.

I get what you’re saying and it would be different if it was happening on a bigger scale and this was just me being difficult and trying to force people and discussions in a certain direction.

It’s not. It’s limited to just a few people. And those people involved are now aware - or at least they should be - that it needs to end.

Should I give you a few examples of me admitting when I was wrong on Patriot forum pages, I can? You accused me of being a Belichick ball washer in the past and I gave you numerous examples of me slamming his moves, but it didn't change your opinion.

You seem a little hard headed about things, like someone who thinks they're perfect in every way and it's the world that needs to change. Like you haranguing the mods for not kowtowing into allowing posters who turn a thread about offensive line into another Brady ***********.

Is it too much to allow posters to actually talk about the offensive line... or do we need to hear how Tom made Joe Thuney and Vollmer into great players, or they otherwise would have ended up unemployed jags? Can we talk about defense, or do we have to hear how Tom made the defense great by teaching Gilmore and Law how to man cover? People often criticize others for the things they hate about themselves. I think the mods do a great job keeping this place from descending into chaos. I'll do the best to work on my faults, how about you?

Brady's gone, retired never to return, time to let it go.

That’s amazing. You blamed others in every single paragraph without a second thought of what you could do in order to improve the place. In other words? You’re perfect. It’s everyone else who is the problem. If only everyone was like you, the perfect fan, father, and person, the board would be much better off.

Do you want to stop this? Or do you want to keep proving my point for me?
