Let’s wait for the contract details before passing judgment on the extension. It’s all about the fully guaranteed money and the dead cap space in year 2 and 3, if they decide to cut him.A 3yr deal for a 30 yr old WR with a bad injury history?
Who cares? He catches 66% of the balls thrown to him.
Would you rather have a WR who gets better separation and catches 65% of the balls thrown his way?
He did mouth OFF to BB about Patricia's crap show on Offense and his under use. I am sure that played a role in the decision of the guy buying the groceries.
but Bourne was right....
B B didnt budge for Glenn, Branch, Moss, I wouldn’t think so.I find the timing of this deal curious. I believe Parker was pissed when asked about DHOP in minicamp.
I wonder if he forced BB’s hand for a commitment or if BB sensed Parker would check out without one?
He absolutely did on the first contract.B B didnt budge for Glenn, Branch, Moss, I wouldn’t think so.
Wouldn’t they have saved more by cutting Parker for Hopkins ?
The modis-operendi is to blame Parker for the lackluster Pats offense and signing Hopkins instantly fixes everything until the offense doesnt improve. Then its on to blame someone else not named Mac Jones. The "consensus" was that if they sign Hopkins then Parker was the most likely to go. Perhaps because they are similar receivers in that they both rely on body control and hands to win rather than separation.
But your point is excellent - they run completely different route trees and so are actually complementary. Hopkins' average depth of target was 9.8 yards vs Parker's 15.4 yards.
He is NOT the problem and made great strides in 2022 getting his catch rate in the 66% range.
that is certainly a theory that spomeone who is consistently negative would propose. Know anyone like that?ya know, this could also be a huge indictment on Thornton. We all thought one of parker/bourne would be the odd man out if Hopkins is signed.
what if it ends up being Thornton pinned to the bench and he just isnt that good...

Parkers (YBC) Yards Before Catch is right up there. He is NOT the problem and made great strides in 2022 getting his catch rate in the 66% range.
Does his catch rate include interceptions because most of them are 50/50 balls.
Parker had to slow down and stop because the ball was noodle armed.Does his catch rate include interceptions because most of them are 50/50 balls.
Because I'm not blind Homer like you and Bruins29 happily. We wish. Sadly, you are not.
