I know it's 3 months away... I'm almost certain gonzo is the real deal.. my question would be so who's on AJ brown??...

I don't think there's a corner on this team right now that you just say, "You've got AJ Brown" and then figure the rest out. Even if Gonzalez turns out as good as we hope, it's not really fair to expect the kid to take on one of the best in the game one on one for a whole game, especially not in his first NFL game.

What will probably happen is they'll play a LOT of different coverages. Multiple guys will end up on Brown over the course of the game (sometimes in man, sometimes in zone) and will almost always have some form of safety help. They'll try to keep Hurts in the pocket and confuse him with lots of different safety rotations.

Don't sleep on Jack Jones being a shut down CB either the duo could be something.

Well see.. that's just the thing. We drafted a corner at #17 to be just that.. if we can't ask our draft pick to cover elite WRs then he won't gain the confidence or experience and that's pretty much defeating the purpose so to speak. I totally get what you're saying and it's sensible. However if week 1 rolls around after a great camp from the kid then he can't be matched up on AJ brown then then that's worrisome.. we lacked that " guy" last season and although we were pretty solid in the secondary we still didn't have that lock down corner that is the very essence of our defense. Zone defense is really for when you don't have man cover corners.. BB employs a man concept, gonzo was drafted to be able to man up, challenge guys at the line and be physical, Jack Jones is another good man coverage guy. Again just stating my thinking.. but understand what you're saying.

Real: sometimes young CB's get better by the end of the year there's a learning process.

Without a doubt no denying that. Point I'm trying to make is... gonzo will likely be a starting CB.. he wasn't drafted to ride the bench.. Williams did that for 4 seasons.. he has the capability of covering teams # 1s.. you don't know what tempature the water is unless you get it in! He'll have his rookie mistakes like all do.. however gonzo has all the makings of an elite CB.. we didn't fare well against elite QBs or WRs last season.

Was Slow-Quan Williams on the bench or in the stands?? I saw him buying and eating Hotdogs a few times.

Yeah.. I think he was also part of the event staff when the games let out. Saw him telling people where to park! LOL

I haven't forgotten that Int Jack Jones made along the sidelines last year he looked like a WR on that play just nasty.
How dare a QB try to throw and out route on me!!! LOL

Mac10 struggled with those throws last year we'll see how OC BOB addresses that. It can really limit what a Offense can do when the Defense knows you don't threaten the entire field.

Exactly, I want D hop part of this offense.. he just takes us higher! Considering who the tandem was Mac had calling plays last season who knows what MAC ONE 0 had going through his head. What I'll say is.. Mac closer to his rookie season or even better this offense is 10 top!

Marcus Jones in the Slot will be nice too Great depth.

Yes absolutely, give me M. Jones all day.. his speed his hands he needs to never come off the field.. he'll get plenty of opportunities from gonzo's presence and our front 7 rush..

Yo man aren't you Williams.. uh yeah but coach told me I'm off today! LOL
Talking about off Slow-Quan plays off the Receivers literally giving 10 yard cushions on 3rd and 1.

He doesn't trust his abilities that's why.. ty knew when to play off and when to play tightly... amazing how guys can be bona studs in college and get to the NFL and it's like they never played a down of football

Talent wise, I think it's the best three they could have out there. Jon Jones' ability to play some outside means you can rotate Marcus in the slot to keep things fresh. But assuming Gonzo is ready to go from the jump, that's the three I want playing when the chips are down.

Jack Jones is a better cover guy than either Jon or Marcus Jones.

A lot of times BB puts his 2nd best CB on the opposing teams elite WR1 with safety help over the top, and uses his lock down corner to shut out their WR2

I’m sure Gonz will be able to match up against basically anyone, but people can’t ***** and moan if some of these elite veterans get the best of him a couple times, especially in his rookie year
