I have been gripping about merweather also. I post tons of things that praise guys on this team.

Meri and Maroney need to be gripped about. When we play a sloppy game in cold weather we need our star back to act like a star.

Because you remeber when Gay and Samuel stepped in to replace the people above them. Do you remember WHY that happened?
It's cause the starters above them got injured.

This is garbage, and you know it. You've done almost nothing but complaining. It's pathetic, it's annoying and it should be embarrassing to you. Instead, you take your pointless trolling as a badge of honor. The facts are against you, be it team statistics or league statistics. The coach's public comments are completely against you. Essentially everything is against you. You've commented on it in what seems to be about 1000 posts. We get it. You don't understand football, you don't understand the Patriots and you don't like Maroney. Now, with all that obviously in the public eye, kindly quit bleating about it.

Quit acting as if you're an innocent lamb being wrongly chosen for the slaughter. And, for the record, this is not a "Maroney" thread, it's a thread about something written by a website. Not going to be possible. They just cant afford to sign both Moss and Samuel. Look at the deal Nate Clements got, and then ask yourself "would Assante take LESS??

I think we all know the answer (unfortunately).

Baloney. They are paying Moss $5+million and Asante $8 million now. What would it take to sign both ? Another 3-4 million? They have that much and more cap room in the 2007 CAP, never mind the exapnded 2008 CAP.

Plus Seau, and Izzo will probably retire; and Colvin, Washington, and Stalworth can renegotiate.

If you say so. The cap is getting bumped up to 116m. But it won’t matter. Keeping both Moss and Samuel will still be too expensive, unless one of them agrees to take MUCH less than what they are worth on the open market. It's not gonna happen. The FO will not take the “pay later” approach that sent the Niners to their demise in the mid-late 90's.

I want Asante to stay as much as anyone... I just don’t see it happening for the $$ he is going to command.

I hear ya. The Maroney fan club loves to take shots at Sammy Morris and say Kevin Faulk's YPC is skewed because they are all "draws"(which is absolutely false), yet they get all up in arms when guys like you and me question Maroney. There is a double standard with these guys. Morris only got yards because he ran against three poor run defenses, yet Maroney's inability to get on track is not his fault and it's the o-line's fault, the gameplan, the coaches choosing not give him more carries, yada, yada, yada. Fellas, the only thing you need to know about Laurence Maroney's career thus far is that Sammy Morris(a career journeyman and backup) played every bit as good(better, in my opinion) in this offense as Maroney.
To even fathom that you could make a legitemate argument to support Sammy Morris as a better running back in year #2 of LoMo's career is sad.

Proof? Our first round draft pick has the same ypc as a former backup / journeymen , and our back up third down back.

Maroney has been hurt way to much , come out of games due to injury all the time, and done nothing noteworthy since last year. Maroney has no big games , few receptions, and 3 td's ( two of which he got from the goal line last week). This is in the most prolific O of all time. He has done nothing special and or big time all year , and has had diapers put in his locker by his own team.

What has Maroney done this year a avg NFL back could not do? Nothing!

Add that to the fact Maroney did nothing in the playoffs last year , and the fact he has already had major surgery , and thats all the proof I need to call him out.

We could have used that first rounder on someone more productive then this kid. Wish we took Jones Drew in the second round.
