PFT: Bill "has shopped" Mac

I still don't think that Mac Jones has had a full shot at proving what he can do on the field in the NFL, but success as a QB and face of an NFL franchise is not just about managing the game on the field but managing your reactions to what's happening around you. Jones seems to have problems in that regard.

Over his 20 years with BB and the Pats organization, TB12, as we now know, had plenty of "issues" with how things were being done, but he kept them all in the building. I think other teams can't be blamed for thinking, "If Jones acted like that with arguably the greatest HC in the history of the game and as part of one of the greatest franchises in the league, how will we be able to handle him?" Damaged goods.

Personally I don't buy the story. Why bring in an Alabama OC in bill O'Brien and Mac guys just to trade him.
who is "Mac guys" ? certainly not BOB. that's akin to saying Brady was Reggie Wayne's guy. BOB went to Alabama after Mac played his last game. They obv ran across each other and even BOB has said "Mac helped me learn the offense a little bit". Biggest commonality is that the culture at Alabama is similar to New England.

Has Bill or Mac said anything since this rumor?

I find it amazing that there are so many people on this board that are nothing more than puppets when it comes to stories about this team. Especially when the "reporter" who bring the information hasn't broken a story about the team in forever.

When was the last time Chris Simms broke a story about this team?
When was the last time Felger broke a story about this team?

The same can be said about Tomase, Volin, and a lesser extent, Bedard.

Yet, as soon one of them posts anything, that is a brigade on here waving it around as if it's the Gospel. Regardless of whether or not they have anything but a SINGULAR source. If it wasn't so pitiful, it'd be hilarious.

It's mind-boggling how people ignore the LEGIT reporters like Reiss, Daniels, Lazar, Howe, etc. Guys who actually have legit sources inside the team and who make sure they have more than an unverified source.

whats even more amusing is that they ran with the original hot take as pure 100% gospel, and then even after multiple credible reporters came out refuting it they accuse those reporters of covering up a story for BB

Its crazy town in this forum lately

There's two weeks until the NFL draft, that's a lot of dead air from now until then.

This could be total fabricated nonsense.

In a heartbeat! I have seen enough of Mac to be convinced he is not the answer. I would take Lance just because I have not seen much from him and therefore there is potential for a pleasant surprise lol
Thinking about it... I think I would as well.. the league has trended towards mobile QBs.. when you can move the pocket everyone's open.. my feelings are this:

Either with this reporting Mac's camp respectfully goes to RK and ask for a trade.

Or he ends up traded to SF for Lance..

Lance is more realistic Becuase he's on his rookie deal.. my opinion

Jones 2021 season was a smoke and mirrors FRAUD.

Look at the teams where he ran the score up. Look at the Buffalo 3 pass victory. Choked vs Buffalo in the playoffs.

Its very simple. If Jones is a winner and capable NFL starting QB, he will show us all this season. No excuses.
I'm giving Mac a mulligan for last season with the dumpster fire "OC and QB coach." Mac finally has a real OC. Give him a good o-line and a legit WR1 and if he still struggles then trade him and sign or draft a better QB. If you remember, a few QBs struggled during their rookie and 2nd year. I remember Bill's fans calling for a new QB after Josh Allen's second year. Sometimes you have to give a young QB time to develop and with what Mac had last season, he regressed.

Depends on how you interpret it. I could certainly be reading it incorrectly vs how Kyed intended it.
I watched his podcast on YouTube with Hurley and he is definitely saying that he has talked to someone before the Florio story came out that told him that Bill was trying to trade Mac.

The video is time stamped

@archstanton543

Those are some scenarios that I mentioned that was my opinion not really an agreement or non agreement.

This reporting doesn't bold well for Mac's future here.. I'm sure his agent is weighing options..

Mac's best option is to remain with the team, show improvement and get his option picked up.

My brother loves the disagree reaction

Callahan obviously drew the short straw and had to do media clean up for another Patriots Belichick foible

Obviously. Because that's how things are done where you reside in the imaginary land of Moronica.

Real question is, does he want to remain with the team after all of this drama? If he balls out, if I were him I’d explore my options.

Oh I'd agree, I'm just stating that with everything transpired this report isn't good for the organization going forward.. I'd like to see Mac here.. But at this point it's probably likely he will be traded.

That's just my feelings That's all
