O/T: Fan sues Patriots Hall of Fame

“I am a die-hard Patriots fan and have been for 40 years

Daniel Vitale, age 42

That’s when I knew that Danny Boy is at least partially FOS. Also when he said that a flag that was never worth anywhere close to $1m+ has dropped in value by $1m. Lol. No wonder the Krafts wouldn’t accept any of his compensation offers.

As others have written, unless there is a contract with specific storage/display requirements, he is SOL. If those requirements were indeed put in writing, this guy likely would have told the Globe that, so I predict that he is SOL.

Yeah, another thing that makes me highly suspicious of this dude... "I got it as an investment". Which means he was LOOKING TO MAKE MONEY already. You think he's gonna hesitate to try to get money out of a multibillion dollar organization?

It's clearly worth negative value now.

Tom Brady re-signed the flag and now the guy is selling it on eBay.

Id rather have a jersey or a helmet.

They even have people that "certify" the condition of items, like in numismatics (coins). Collectors have a huge hard on for the stuff they collect or they want/are trying to make $ so I can see him making a stink. And yea it should have been somehow sealed up and kept away from light days this thing called common sense. Oh that and don't send your hard earned/ prized collectibles to be shown somewhere unless you KNOW how they will be stored. Asking for something like this to happen if not.

What’s with all the photos of himself on the eBay listing?

Why is there family pics of kids playing with bubbles??

What a narcissistic douche he is!

I along with many other folks collect things the we believe they will have exponentially increased in value as time goes on.. now realizing more and more that those things the I believe would increase in value did not, and were just souvenirs that probably have not value to anyone else except me. State quarters for example, bought ever new quarter in rolls from the mint.. after that was said and done waiting a couple of years and tried to sell them on E-Bay, thinking I would make a fortune. They did not even hit the reserve, so I just cashed them in at the bank.
My personal Pats stash is just that, a personal stash that probably has little or no value.
Pity the atty who is representing him..

look at the assholes on here trying to schitt on the flag guy...

from the eBay post...after 10% goes to a local autism charity, and the rest goes to his kid

"The remaining proceeds will go into a trust for the seller’s daughter, who is on the autism spectrum."

sure, maybe the guys full of crap, but it'd be pretty easy to find out if he was

from personal experience, autism services can cost a fortune bc many are not covered by insurance

He’s selling the flag to raise money for autism charity and to set aside money for his daughter’s future treatment, who is on the autism spectrum.

My friend did the same thing with coins, maybe even a much larger "investment ". The thing to understand about collectibles is that said items WILL become valuable. Probably just not to the buyer but their offspring. It takes a while or special event for these types of things to gain value except for certain things ie stolen Brady Jersey that was returned, Kobe gear etc.

I also think it's a bit of a tragedy that Coates is not in the HOF. He was the most terrifying tight end of the '90s.
He has better numbers than Mike Ditka who got in as a player in 88. However, because it took them so long to not put him in when he was due, the passing game exploded and now we have a more than just a few te’s in line with better numbers than Coates. All about timing I guess.

He would of been a monster in todays game with the rule changes favoring offenses.

Well apologies for my post……I didn’t read the listing - I just looked at the pics!

That’ll learn me to post without all the info!

He easily would have put up Gronk numbers. I mean, they are virtually the same player. Good blockers, devastating receivers.
