Player Signing Patriots Sign Gesicki

Juju
Bourne
Parker
Thornton
Henry
Gesicki
unfortunately i dont think we see WR1 coming our way anymore. Thats a good stable of pass catchers but still missing that game breaker, hope i am wrong.

It's a little concerning that he wasn't valued much in Miami last season when their offense blew up. Also, among all TEs last season with at least 10 receptions, Gesicki had the 60th ranked catch percentage at 61.5%. And since Gesicki has been in the league, among all TEs with at least 50 receptions, he's had the 62nd ranked catch percentage at 62.4%.

Overall I like the signing, he's a big target, and an upgrade from Jonnu. I think he'll give us what Brate gave the Bucs as a second to Gronk... a reliable TE2 with occasional red zone pop.

Do we need a WR1 if we can give 0.5 seconds more to Mac and better route running.

I think we have improved OLine to a smaller degree and route running should be improved . This means defending all our WRs or tight ends is going to be a challenge . Our wr 3 and wr 4 are probably more like WR2.5 . So should be able to dominate in the trenches.

Just draft some solid OTs and CBs and TEs and we can cook something.

Could his catch percentage have more to do with his routes? being a non typical TE I would imagine he runs more difficult routes more like a receiver which could affect this stat?

You don't want to see his catch% up against WRs. Think of something else.

Again, despite the less than stellar catch%, the team found an upgrade at the TE2 spot.

First domino…. Does that mean they’re replacing Henry with Gesicki and a Henry trade is coming? Or a domino with a wide receiver joining the team?
I don’t think Henry is going anywhere, I said earlier I think a trade for Hop or Juedy is coming.

OBJ or Hopkins + Juju + Gesicki + Henry + Rhamondre = pretty legit formation, as long as the OL can hold up.

I still find it amazing that people seem to be writing Thornton off and want to add ANOTHER receiver which would, essentially, bury Thornton behind that receiver and Parker and potentially Bourne.

Agree , I think O Line will be much more important for our passing game success
Juju thronton parker bourne looks serviceable with the 2 TE and a good run game

Wouldn't Juju have been the first domino on offense? I'd like to get excited about this, but I also can't recall Zolak being right about any similar statements from inside sources in the past.

Keep in mind that Johnnu Smith in the previous years to being signed here average 32 receptions and 4+ TD's for Tennessee. My guess is we did not know how to use him... stay tuned to see how Gesecki fits in here.

Jonnu just had one breakout year. All other years his stats were similar or slightly better than what we had.

We badly whiffed on him. Gesicki routes are similar to plays that we have . I like the signing .

I want them to add two CBs and a LB now . And draft two tackes in first 4 rounds.

No thanks on OBJ. Too many questions like with Juju. I like the Hopkins scenario though, he's a guaranteed upgrade to the offense. I am surprised that Hopkins and O'Brien would both agree to work together again after the sour ending in Houston.
