Yup. Him and Downs are 170 and we've just never drafted that "type" early on. So I'm playing towards the rule with such a high pick as opposed to going towards an exception

What's up Jay! I don't believe Witherspoon will test out that well compared to Porter and Gonzalez especially. I think he's one of those guys that plays a little faster than he'll test. Which is fine but when selecting that high teams like to check boxes to make them feel comfortable. I think he goes 20-40 range.

He'll test soon and if he hits numbers we like I'll add him. Just looking ahead a bit and don't think it's in the cards.

Again apologies fell asleep and made some last minute changes. I like things to be as perfect as possible. So I have to just put it out and give myself another few days to really finish it off.

Things like the Pats just don't draft LBs that aren't close or above 240. Good luck finding a few of those nowadays that fit the criteria we like. Both physically, on the field and athletically. Not easy. I scratched Pappoe, Henley, Williams, Dennis and a few others. We haven't drafted a WR below 180. So I scratched Downs and Addison. Just tough to see us spend a high pick on an outlier but I can be convinced. A good argument or interest from us. It's definitely a process. So as I've said for a few years now. Just @ me and lmk who & why you think should be on. Chances are I know the name, might have forgotten but for reasons X Y & Z isn't on. Just make a good case. For instance I just added LVN even though he didn't meet all requirements.

I use athletic testing, tendencies / preferences we've taken to and place w/e prospects check the boxes where I see their value at. Need is factored in a little in terms of value so I'm a little flexible there.

I'll be adding one. Gibbs looks like a strictly oz runner and Achane is obviously very small but we need a better rec option back there and both can do that. Eric Gray and Mitchell Mitchell intrigue me too.

Not sure where the JuJu signing puts us as far as WR goes in the draft but you can see why teams are calling for Higgins, Jeudy, Hop etc. Especially for outside guys. It's not the greatest class. For WR or the overall class.

This is a nice class to add a really good, cheap WR2/3. QJ has low-end WR1 upside and JSN floor is extremely high. Both those guys would really set apart some teams WR rooms (Chargers, Sea, Detroit, Chicago et) but guys like Addison, Flowers, Mims are great WR2/3 types. Which in today's game is very important but none are game changers by themselves.

A quick question, BGC. Is your definition of PTP: player the Patriots might pick, going on what we know about how they draft? Or is it: player I would pick for the Patriots?

I ask because, given the very poor record the Patriots have drafting early-round defensive backs and wide receivers, I wonder if they are looking for the wrong things.

Definitely had OG George above TT. I love George but he's a wild boy. Don't think he would have fit here while Bill is running things but yea I'm a fan. Had a high 4th on TT, just missed a 3rd. So I wouldn't have picked him there.

The PTP board is a little different than how I grade or again my preferences. It's all about what Bill would do.

I've hit on like 30+ players the last 4-5 years. Usually average 4-5 a draft. Definitely not perfect just better than everyone else mate

Is Brian Branch going to be there at #14? I have read reports of him being a top 10. The Saban/Belichick connection is always intriguing, so you know Bill will know all there is to know on the player. Sounds like a good possibility to replace DMac. I would imagine the board would blow up if they traded up to get a safety.

Might be an ideal spy for Josh Allen then, although the NFL scouting report has him as a CB.

we have enough of this type with dugger peppers and phillips imo. they all can be a spy imo.

He'll definitely be there at 14 imho. It's a weak class but I'd be a little surprised if he went top 14 but who knows. He's a really good prospect.

Definitely not the ideal C1 FS but he's got serious range and isn't clunky or slow. He's covered slot WR and has reps outside as well. He played Hyatt pretty well on a few reps this year. Used blitzing all over up the middle, edge. Been aligned everywhere. He's a really good prospect. Very versatile in coverage, Saban raves about his IQ & attitude.

I wouldn't hate bc we've played more 2hi looks recently. Him and Dugger up top with Phillips at sub LB would be a sweet package but we have several more pressing needs.

I notice he's at the top of your PTP tackle list. Any thoughts appreciated before we watch him go to Pittsburgh or Baltimore ...
