Per Andrew Callahan:

It's small dollars but if he signs the tender and stays they just guaranteed $2.7m to a player who quite frankly is 50/50 to make the team.

Rob: I both Cajuste and Anderson gives up very quality back-up and potential starting depth I like both signings.

It’s not guaranteed. Hits our cap now, but they can cut him without owing him any money. Unlike the the franchise tag which is guaranteed.

Restricted tenders aren't guaranteed. If he gets cut in camp they owe him nothing and there is no dead cap hit.

Figured they'd tender him as an original round ... Least I got something right
Your right more than not... lol. I like the tender seems klemm is going all in on the OLine upgrades.. great... could we apply this to skill positions....

IMO Yodny is talented enough to start but he can't seem to put it all together because of injuries and motivation.

I like him a heck of a lot more than Wynn/ Lose.

OK. Thought they were for some reason.

Thanks. Thought it was.

When will Belichick start addressing anything besides the OL? I mean I'm very excited about Yodny but how about something else to really get the blood pumping.

And he will be cut, unless he comes out of training camp more competitive than he's been.

Offering the tender was a good move. It keeps Cajuste around, hoping he might at last reach potential.

Jennings was an example of a guy who woke up his third year. This is Cajuste's 4th, but there's really no risk, and you probably could keep him around the practice squad as depth later at minimum.
