Pre-Free Agency 2023

I think Miles Bryant would make a hell of FS.
They need to add at least one vet Outside CB AND at least one top-150 pick there too.
Absolutely need to gather as much talent as possible and let it all play out in camp.. one guy who went under the Radar we signed last offseason was Terrence Mitchell had a great camp and was with the starting unit.. he injured his ankle and ended up being cut.. of he's available I'd like to sign him for depth

Yeah Mitchell's a UFA again.

I’m hoping the Pats resign Jonathan Jones. He’s a good cover corner inside and outside (when not trying to cover much bigger receivers) and has the versatility and speed to play center field with McCourty retired.

Will be disappointed if 2 DBs aren’t selected in the first four rounds of the draft and if one is not taken in the first two rounds.

Jack Jones is overrated and not big enough to hold up. Plus, who knows how deep he is in Bill’s doghouse.

The Pats really need to add length and physicality to their secondary. No one is really covered if they’re taller and stronger than the player covering them. This draft is deep enough at corner and safety to get longer and more physical back there.

Texans signed Robert Woods, Hopkins on the move soon hopefully.

There's a hater on here that said mills wasn't signed to play safety once again I've proved himh
I believe the team is going to add a veteran or 2 at CB.. as you know I've mentioned Murphy-bunting.. as TB is likely to be rebuilding..
No you didn’t prove me wrong. You posted a screen shot of some idiots opinion.
And how am I a “hater”?

If mills was signed to play safety why did he never play safety?????

Bills and Chiefs? Me no likey.
Meh, the more cap space those teams throw into one phase of the game, the more they are diminished overall.

Who would you like instead of him since he isn't good?
Better than Berrios isn't a very high bar. He's averaged 25 catches a year. If you're going to dump Meyers and add Berrios you've made yourself immeasurably worse. If you want to go big in the draft, Smith-Njigba is probably the closest to an idea slot guy for the Pats.

I hear ya, well I'd say this. The qb situation in NY wasn't the best for a player like Berrios, slot WRs see more targets than anyone typically.
What I'm thinking is sign him to a team friendly deal have him in camp along with draft picks ect and see if he emerges as that guy.

I don't think the team is dumping Myers per say.. I believe he's priced his way out of Foxborough, Because he's looking to get paid and he should be! Either way we need to gather as much talent as possible, and let it all play out in camp under some real offensive coaching.

So if you don't agree then the report is idiotic? The post is from fan sided.. a reputable patriots report from 2021 stating the team moved mills from safety to play corner..

I agree, But I don't believe jack is under related at the least.. playing corner as the great ty law stated you have to have a certain attitude.. you can't play scared... as a rookie coming in Jack played with that.. his play is what got him in the starting line up.. he has some great foot work, ball skills, he's physical at the line he has great catch up speed..

Like most young players he will continue to get better and I'm sure he'll bulk up a bit.. he's much better down the field on deep passes than any corner we have right now. Also on the lengthy CBs absolutely correct.. Murphy-bunting is the name I'll keep my eye on..

So many here always seem to think that players jump at "team-friendly" deals. On another thread, people were musing about bringing in Carr, Geno Smith, Jimmy G to PUSH Mac Jones. Yeah great, 100million guaranteed for a back-up...
Berrios played decently in NY - he has nothing to "prove," like coming off an injury or busting out somewhere. Why would he go to a team that plans what you're proposing? Also, he's not going anywhere without some guaranteed money - how much are you willing to throw at a camp body?
Do we know that Meyers is looking to get paid, or is he looking for longer-term growth and security? But yeah, I agree, he probably played himself into a position to get more than what New England would offer, but who knows? I thought Edelman was gone when he hit Free Agency that one year. We'll see what the market is. I think Meyers wants to stay. He's not going to take a cheap contract and lose tons of $$$$$, but there might be a bot of a hometown discount in there if the team that brought him in UDFA, gave him a chance, and rewarded his efforts comes close to an offer from somewhere else.

I want Jo.Jo. Back as well

eh... Personal preference, but we do need dB help

he's about the same size - height & weight as Jo.Jo... As for overrated, I disagree... Played slightly more than 50% of the defensive snaps, and was better than JoJo in coverage...

lets hope we can sniff 1 or 2 of them out...

We don't actually know if he's priced his way out of Foxboro. We'll see.
