This ranking is a little questionable: Top Five Greatest Offensive Linemen In New England Patriots History

1. John Hannah
2. Bruce Armstrong
3. Logan Mankins
4. Matt Light
5. Dan Koppen

Honorable mention: David Andrews, Nate Solder, Sebastian Vollmer, Jon Morris.

I would accuse him of having recency bias if he didn't include Jon Morris, but some of these guys, like Solder and Andrews, are behind Pete Brock, Bill Lenkaitis, Shelby Jordan, Brian Holloway (3 Pro Bowls), Bob Cryder, Stephen Neal, Damien Woody (Pro Bowl) and Leon Gray (multiple Pro Bowls, 3x All-Pro).

My 5:

1. John Hannah
2. Bruce Armstrong
3. Leon Gray
4. Brian Holloway
5A. Matt Light
5B. Pete Brock

Logan Mankins, Joe Thuney, Sam Adams, Bill Lenkaitis, Shelby Jordan, Jon Morris, Stephen Neal and Sebastian Vollmer for honorable mention.

Leon Gray isn't even in the honorable mentions but Dave Andrews and Sebastian Vollmer are? wtf

Interesting that Joe Thuney didn't get a mention. He was as good as Mankins for his 5 years here.

My list is Hannah. Armstrong, Mankins (he was here longer), Thuney and Light. And there are LOTS of honorable mentions. No ever talks about it but it was the loss of Steven Neal early in the first quarter that cost us the Superbowl and an undefeated season.

Good list. Don't think I would include Dr. Bill and Seabass in this list. Very good players but not the list of greatest. I think I must be prejudiced against Centers because I seem to value the Tackles more.

Good player but lots of centers with longer careers. His injuries hurt the team. Couldn't replace him

We don't talk about it because it hurts like heck

Koppen over Thuney? He was a "feel good story"-decent C who took Woody's job because he couldn't snap a football, but he wasn't anything special.

Same with Matt Light. He was a fine LT who was supposed to be a G, but got his ass routinely kicked by elite competition. Had he left the Pats, he would've gotten exposed like Nate Solder.

Brian Waters was big time G and helped solidify a soft ass OL the Pats had in 2011.

Sebastian Vollmer was a really good RT.

So nobody remembers this guy C Dave Wohlabaugh?
I remember Wohlabaugh. But he isn't in the top 5 of OL for this team.. He'd be in the Tp 5 CENTERS.. But not the Top 5 OL over-all.
Same with Andrews. Andrews is Top 5 Center, but not Top 5 Over-all. And Andrews isn't at Koppen's level.

I don't care how short Thuney's tenure was, he was one of the best. Far better than Mankins imo. And it is close but I think I like Andrews over Koppen. Stephen Neal and Vollmer were standout players for me as well. I like Light but he consistently got beat by Jason Taylor, Aaron Schobel, and Freeney.

Trent Brown's 2018 season was elite as was Brian Waters lone season. They should at least get honorable mentions for playing that well.

I'm going to add a new category... Swing or depth guys... We had one guy, Russ Hochstein here, who was a pretty damn good plug and play where needed back up... So, not saying he's the greatest, not even close, but feel he deserves at least a shout out

John Hannah
Leon Gray
Sam Adams
Brian Holloway
Bruce Armstrong

HM Jon Morris, Matt Light, Logan Mankins, Stephen Neal, Sebastian Vollmer, Joe Thuney
I liked Sam Adams but no.

his one year with the Pats was elite. if he had more time at that level of play, he would have been 2nd to Hannah.
