It's easy, and only takes a few moments. It'll make them more competitive for 2nd place in the division and for a wild card spot. Unless Buffalo's roster falls apart in the offseason, they are the heavy favorite to win the East. I think Carr could move the Jets past the Dolphins and Patriots because their defense is also really solid. If Tua's healthy then I like their offense over the Jets offense. Carr is better than Mac but below Tua and all of them are way below Allen.Does Derek Carr to Jets move the needle?
I have to beleive it buys a few more wins.
He's a good player, and Saleh's a little underrated as a head coach. They're actually quietly a good team with some serious talent on both sides of the ball, so if they figure things out at quarterback, they'll definitely muddy things even further within the division.Does Derek Carr to Jets move the needle?

Garrett Wilson was pretty good at WR last year and Breece Hall was ridiculously good at RB before getting hurt. Their OL is good. Defense is obviously very strong. If they got a solid QB then they'd be a good team but I think their weakness continues to be poor team culture. He's a good player, and Saleh's a little underrated as a head coach. I expect a dogfight in the AFCE this season and could see any team ending up on top or on bottom. Buffalo is weird because they should be clearly dominant, but they find ways to lose games.Garrett Wilson was pretty good at WR last year and Breece Hall was ridiculously good at RB before getting hurt. Regarding Miami - the shine came off Mike McDaniel and his "golden boy" status the back half of the year so I wouldn't be surprised if they trend down a bit in 2023. Buffalo faces some tough financial decisions and their window seems to be closing, and Diggs might cause some drama. Could be an interesting year in the AFCE.
Mr. Clean junior needs to add Myles of space to his lineup, eh Captain? If anything, Mister Clean Junior's a little Over-rated.
Carr is better than Mac but not as good as Tua…. maybe in 2022, but we’ve already determined your QB rankings are on a sliding scale and ever changing based on team results. It'll make them more competitive for 2nd place in the division and for a wild card spot. Buffalo is going to get a "choker" complex soon, if it hasn't already developed... not buying the "competitor" spirit bs they tried to pawn off as an explanation for Stef Diggs behavior during and after that game...I expect a dogfight in the AFCE this season and could see any team ending up on top or on bottom. I came up with a new ranking system for 2023... check it out in the QB thread!Carr is better than Mac but not as good as Tua…. maybe in 2022, but we’ve already determined your QB rankings are on a sliding scale and ever changing based on team results.
Agreed BOB should improve the situation. "Great offseason" is overstating it but we don't need to rehash prior details. If Obie does what’s expected, if the Pats have another great offseason and draft like they have the last couple then the Patriots will be substantially better as will their QB.
I think they should have an open competition in camp. At this moment I like Zappe better. He looked way better than I thought he would. Your take was still too strong but you had a closer assessment of Zappe than I. So far anyway. I'd like to see him get a shot as the QB1.They also have a fallback plan in case Mac stays regressed, Zappe is waiting in the wings.
Right now I envision Mac's ceiling to be Carr. Tua in that Miami offense looked very good most of last season. The concussions almost certainly will derail his career however.Tua, Carr… both of these guys fall into that “good” not “great” category, it won’t be hard to match that with two potential starting QB’s on the roster. Tua is also another bad injury away from retirement.
way too low for Mac. Not a huge fan of Mac's, and wouldn't have been disappointed if Zappe replaced him last year, but he's got the ability to be better than Carr.Right now I envision Mac's ceiling to be Carr. Diggs is a great WR but a definite headcase. I'm a huge believer in Allen and generally that team. Allen has to clean up his turnovers but he's the best dual threat QB in the NFL. However Buffalo fans should be concerned with how their defensive play deteriorated over the course of the season. Certainly injuries were part of it but there was very noticeable decline there. I think McDermont should be capable of fixing it though.Buffalo is going to get a "choker" complex soon, if it hasn't already developed... not buying the "competitor" spirit bs they tried to pawn off as an explanation for Stef Diggs behavior during and after that game...
Carr's got a 91.8 passer rating and averages 248 yards per game. Mac is a 89.0 passer rating and 219 yards per game. Carr also has a better TD% and lower INT%. Mac still has a ways to go before he's even at Carr's level. We'll see. BOB should help.way too low for Mac. Probably so but they only lost 3 games by margins of 2, 3 & 3 points.there is some tension in that team as its currently constituted... McDermott has to root it out and deal with it, otherwise it wont matter, the same ish is going to repeat itself if he doesnt
I get what you're saying. But I'm looking at Carr's entire career. Last season was by far his worst since his rookie year. Maybe McDaniels just really sucks? He's got a really bad track record outside of NE (and more specifically with any QB not named Brady). The Raiders had some injuries too (Renfrow and Waller). The Carr-Adams connection was not a problem. I'm sure Adams is pissed right now... not having a QB.last year i saw derek carr achieve a passer rating of 86 with davante adams, hunter renfrow, darren waller and josh jacobs filling out the roster, with McDaniels running the O...
Mac basically equaled his successes in less games, with inferior skill players and with an anchor around his neck as the lead play caller...
