NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Super Bowl Game Day Pregame/Game Thread (Eagles vs Chiefs)

One Super Bowl ending that hasn't happened yet is a team winning on a 60 yard Hail Mary heave, that would have been some ending if it happened.
Brady's throw at the end of Super Bowl 46 was almost the first. It was that close to being tipped close enough for Gronk to grab it :(

The Eagles Pats SB was closer to being a catch imo. If Gronk was able to high point it, he had a better than 50/50 chance of catching it. But he barely got of the ground as he was being held down. You can see in this video, Hogan being taken out of the play too. I don't know what took Amendola so long to get there, he had a chance but arrived a tad too late to get a tip ball.

The whole narrative until this year, is you let them play in big end of the game moments. Now we know that's all BS.

In a shocking turn of events, one poster turned an Eagles/Chiefs thread into a mahomes v brady thread, with supporting evidence he voted for Mahomes in a Brady or Mahomes poll.

Freedom of speech for trolling is great isn't it?
There should be no discussion about who is better between Brady and anyone else. Look, I was born and raised a Falcon fan so I have no great love for Brady, but he is and always will be The Goat. One reason for that is that every QB that comes behind him, will always be measured to him, he is the measuring stick. I don't care how many QBs in future win Super Bowls, 7, 10, or 15, Brady will always be the one that they will measure him to.

Since some of you know I am an Alabama fan, it's like Bear Bryant. Bear is The Goat because he set the standard. Saban is the Goat too, but Bear set the bar and every coach measures himself to the Bear. Don't get me wrong, I love Saban and I am truly grateful he is our coach, but it's the Bear and it's Brady.
Ya'll need to stop trying to find a QB who will every be Brady, there never will be another Brady!

He only engineered 4 touchdown drives and 5 scoring drives overall. But yeah he did nothing...
This wasn't an all-time Super Bowl performance by Mahomes. He was good but not great. He had 182 yards passing for Christ's sake (100 yards below his postseason average and the lowest of his career). The 4th quarter TDs were HOF play designs by Reid... the receivers were literally uncovered and completely wide open.

Hurts had a better game than Mahomes (while facing two opponents: the Chiefs and the Refs).

Hurts fumbled the ball and ultimately that was the difference in the game.
A lot of us called it in the GameDay thread

Any insight onto what schemed those guys out of coverage so well? That looked damn near silly on the Eagles part for having those folks so uncovered. The first TD I saw an Eagle bite on a fake and just open up the right side of the field. The second one was on the left and I didn't get a close read.

The Chiefs won like those old Patriots SB Teams: Offense - Defense and ST's.

Hard-hitting analysis right there
Reminds me of your breakdowns of Brady SB wins.

This is why I keep saying you know nothing about football other than stats.

Time of Possession:

Eagles - 35:47

Chiefs: 24:13

Mahomes put up 35 points with the Eagles dominating the TOP. It was an amazing performance. And he did it on a high ankle sprain.

7 of that was the Kansas City defense and another 7 was mostly due to the Toney punt return. That being said this was the best mahomes has looked in his 3 SB appearances. Saying he was amazing is a stretch. That Philly defense was crap last night. The last two KC tds there wasn’t a defender in sight. That’s a credit to Reid’s playcalls/designs more than anything.

People saying the NFL is rigged are ****ing morons. But I am seriously wondering what went through that ****ing refs head where he decided to make that call. Not conspiratorially, but is it like when Jacoby Meyers absolutely lost his mind and in sheer panic and instinct did that batshit crazy lateral that led to the Raiders winning that game? Did the ref caught up in the moment, on edge to avoid anything stupid happening, and instinctively called that penalty without really thinking about the broader implications?

It's just nuts. I don't understand how you can let that play go All Game until that very moment when barely anyone even realized it had happened. If it wasn't called it just wouldn't have been A Thing at all.
Ughh just so ****ing stupid. All of it.

Child, please. He played on a bum wheel and only had 25 minutes of possession. Here are Mahomes stats compared to Brady's in SB 55, which I'm sure you and others will say was amazing!

Mahomes (SB 57): 21/27, 77% completions, 182 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, TOP: 25 minutes

Brady (SB 55): 21/29, 72.4% completions, 201 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, TOP: 31 minutes

Incorrect. The defense scored 7. Butker scored 3. I know math is hard.

This game is good news for us Pats fans. You can too win with a mediocre roster if you have a really good QB. How the Chiefs scored 31 points with just Kelce was insane. How they slowed down Philly's offense with Frank Clark, Chris Jones and Jags was something else. Philly's front 7 and the rest of the defense had a horrible game considering they had 70+ sacks on the season and 4 guys with 10+ sacks. O sacks on a guy with a bum ankle. Big let down. I certainly thought that call at the end was horrible and would've at least left time for Philly to answer with a potential 3 point deficit.

Chiefs are going to be around for a long time.

Mahomes ain’t walking through that door

Now do SB 52.

Here, I'll help you out:

Brady (SB 52): 28/48, 58.3% completions, 505 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, TOP: 25 minutes

Your rebuttal is to once again compare him to Brady? Who didn’t see that coming. You’re like a comic who continually bombs on stage but yet keeps playing the same material.

You forgot one stat from that game - 1 fumble (and a big one too). And i never said Brady wasn't great in SB 52.
