NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Super Bowl Game Day Pregame/Game Thread (Eagles vs Chiefs)

Holy **** you're relentlessly ridiculous. The 2014 Seahawks had a historically great defense in 2013-2014. They obliterated Manning's record setting Broncos offense the Super Bowl prior. Brady came back on that defense down 10 in the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl. He was 13-15 for 124 yards and 2 TDs in that 4th quarter. The most impressive 4th quarter comeback in Super Bowl history.
Yes and everyone was talking about the Seahawks defense being as good as the Ravens and Bears.

In a shocking turn of events, one poster turned an Eagles/Chiefs thread into a mahomes v brady thread, with supporting evidence he voted for Mahomes in a Brady or Mahomes poll.

Freedom of speech for trolling is great isn't it?

The ball was snapped from the PHI 36, and he dropped back, so was anyone expecting Hurts to throw it 70-75 yards? It was a hopeless spot for 95% of quarterbacks in the league. Hurts had the one horrible mistake (the fumble) but otherwise he was great in this game. He got denied a final realistic opportunity by the refs.
Yeah it was a longshot, but still, it seemed like a bad throw and he could of got another 10 -20 yards. Did it even go 50 yards?

Now you are changing the goalposts from 2014 to 2013. The 2014 Seahawks in the SB was not the same as the 2013 Seahawks. As I said the Seahawks lost their best pass rusher to a concussion in the middle of the game and it was at that point Brady started to go off. Before that he was struggling, including throwing two picks. Moreover, Sherman had an arm injury from the NFCCG and their second best corner Jeremy Lane went out with a broken arm. Brady was picking on some guy named Tharold Simons. So stop with your nonsense.

Besides, I said historic pass rushing team. I never said anything about historic secondaries.

Nah you said "great" pass rushing team then you changed it to historic after I showed you were wrong.

I'd even rank the 2021 Rams as a better pass rushing team than the 2022 Eagles and I wouldn't call them historic either.

So what happened to Philly's DL and their ferocious pass rush?

This shows that Pat Mahomes Greatness is not a fluke even our Brady couldn't snap that.

I mean, MAC10 is an incredibly effective troll. He can derail literally any thread at will and not stop because the mods don’t ban him. Ever.

It’s not hard to be a troll when you know you can just continually post and post and post to **** up threads with no threat of being stopped by one moderator button. Which is embarrassing as hell for the mods, what do you do exactly? What exactly gets someone banned because apparently annoying literally everyone else and making your already slowly dying message board worse isn’t punishable.

The throw sucked but like I said about 5% of quarterbacks in the league might have a chance of reaching the end zone from there. Realistically the Eagles needed to get to midfield for a legitimate hail mary. Look, they shouldn't have been in such an impossible situation. Their defense sucked in the second half but they finally got the stop they needed and the refs said **** off, first down Chiefs. Game over.

Would I have Carte Blanche by the mods to enter every thread there is and angrily insist that Bill Russel/Larry Bird was overrated and just lucky and Kobe was the GOAT? Just wondering.

If hands on the back look like a hold to you, then there should be at MINIMUM 100 holding calls a game.

Tugging the jersey was the holding part. The defensive player admitted he did it.

The DBs hands are allowed on the WR, that is how the game is being called these days.

The DB can have hands on to keep track of where the WR is relative to himself, but can't grab or reroute the WR.

The defensive player did a bit of that too, thinking he'd get away with it, but he didn't.

The defensive player probably thought they'd let things go like they were all game long, but they didn't.

And their inconsistency is getting worse year by year.

Yep, yet ******* Goodell just said it's the best it's ever been.

Changing the goalposts? The Seattle defense was the best in the NFL 2012-2015. They were 1st in points against each of those 4 seasons. They were 4th, 1st, 1st & 2nd in yards against. Their defense was nonstop tremendous for 4 seasons. Yet you're reducing Brady's amazing 4th quarter comeback in the Super Bowl down to "picking on some guy named Tharold Simons"? That's epic nonsense, brother.

Like what were you saying about Super Bowl 49 in February of 2015? The same garbage you're saying now?

I mean this is all on the total abdication of any moderation whatsoever.

Hurts made several deep accurate big time throws. So I'm thinking that last throw was just a bad throw. Anyone want to chime in?

The big Davonta Smith throw where he was wide open and he went out of bounds at the one was underthrown. Smith had to slow down and if it hit him in stride, it would have been a TD and might have been broken up if Smith wasn't so wide open. I can't remember of any other deep throws that were off though.

If Mac Jones made a pass like this, people would be killing him for his noodle arm.

Don't get the Davonta Smith and Boney T comparison Smith have more meat and muscles on his body than Boney T.

Man good thing I got the Champions League/EPL to satisfy my sports itch because the NFL coverage this morning is nauseating with talks about the ankle

Michael Jordan

While trading for future picks generally works out really well, I wonder if the Eagles would have rather had an extra mid-first round rookie on the field last night instead of the Saints’ 2023 1st (10th overall) and 2024 2nd. Getting to Super Bowls is hard, and there’s a decent chance the guy they draft this spring will never play in one. They made so many win-now moves with the trades for veterans and extremely backloaded cap hits, but maybe they should have made one more with that draft pick.

Of course, given that they drafted a backup NT at 13 (10 snaps last night) and a backup C in the 2nd, maybe they would have picked somebody who wouldn’t have really helped this season anyway.
