Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

What people forget is that would have been Brady’s third-straight Super Bowl loss and might have changed the course of his legacy. The coaching staff preparing Butler for that moment changed everything, I’m just a little stunned people aren’t understanding that.
The Patriots should have won every Super Bowl from 2014 through 2018.

There's a good chance Malcolm doesn't catch it if Russell Wilson doesn't drill the pass into his chest. Or better yet, Wilson should have checked out of the play altogether, or called a timeout, or maybe pulled back on the throw as the play was being immediately blown up. Wilson has escaped way too much criticism for this play.

Did Carroll coach Lane and Wagner into those interceptions in SB49? No, that’s just 11 guys running around trying to tackle with no concept of Brady’s tendencies. In practice, the Seahawks run one play and then go home and read comic books. Butler’s INT was all about coaching and situational football. No other player (who plays the cornerback position professionally) is aware of another team’s strategy.

The universe must be out of alignment because I agree with you 100% there ;)

So you invent a theory, then make yourself miserable based on that invented theory. Got it.

He ****ing said point blank that it was the situation with his kids and the agreements made post divorce over his ability to see them, he just didn't say the name Giselle. But who the **** else besides Tom would be involved in that? Bridget's son lives in NYC so it isn't her! Hence I'm reading between the lines to figure out the literally one person it could be, the ex-wife.

Christ there's barely anything more annoying on this forum than people here who **** on 98.5 and other media despite NOT LISTENING TO IT.

Doesn't change the fact he jumped the route because the coaches prepped him for it.
I'm not. My point is it shouldn't obscure Wilson's culpability for the throw.

How to say you've been triggered, without saying you've been triggered...

Not that you asked me but I say 80% players and 20% coaches.
Thanks for your response since none of the posters arguing coaching >> players want to stick their necks out. I think coaching matters way more when the players are younger/starting. When a kid enters the league, he's gone through about 17 years of coaching and playing. He's been coached by a myriad of coaches and depending on his talent a/o programs he grew up in, determines the level of coaching he needs. He'll always need coaching. All players do because they don't have the time to come up with all the things that fall under the coaches duties.

Given that:

PeeWee: 95% coaches / 5% players
14U: 85% coaches / 15% players
HS: 65% coaches / 35% players
College Fr: 55% coaches / 45% players
College Sr.: 45% coaches / 55% players
NFL-rookie: 40% coaches / 60% players
NFL-veteran: 35% coaches / 65% players
NFL-elite: 25% coaches / 75% players

Or something along those lines.

I'd respond to this, but we're not shifting the argument. If you're now trying to shift the credit away from the coaches - who put what was then an undrafted rookie in a position to make a play - and instead make it a bad play by Wilson, you're in a weird place I can't help you with.

So no response got it.
The response is: you've been triggered.
It is Breer's job to generate "hot takes".
He happened to find one that triggers you.
More money in the bank for Breer, none for you.

I'll give @venecol credit, I'm pretty sure he knows he's just trying to be difficult. You're actually a little more heavily invested in these. ;)

Same except 2006-2019
Too much garbage for Brady to sort through in 2006, 2013 & 2019.

Forget 2008. Season was over the moment Brady's knee got destroyed.

2009 was a tall ask with Brady coming off the ACL. The Welker injury was the nail in the coffin.

2010-2012 was a tremendous stretch for Brady. The NE defenses were trash, which arguably wasted the peak of Brady's ability.

In 2015 poor decisions by Belichick cost the team three games: PHI, @NYJ, @Mia. Subsequently they lost the #1 seed which resulted in them having to play the AFCCG at Denver. The Broncos had a powerhouse defense that season but Peyton loses that AFCCG if it's in Foxboro.

2017: Malcolm Butler. No need to elaborate.

Strange how we could all choose to be thankful for 20 years of TB12 in NE, three years of TB12 in Tampa, AND 23 years of BB in NE. But, nope, we gotta quibble about who gets the credit, who left vs who was pushed, etc.

Meanwhile, we know what Brady is up to:

This won't be a popular view but I think Brady should decline the offer. Brady originally wanted to retire a Patriot, and Kraft could have made it happen, but he deferred to Belichick instead. Brady left and he went on to have great success in a Buccaneers uniform. He retired a Buccaneers. That's that.

Brady will go in the HOF of both teams. He'll go in the actual HOF with both jerseys representing his career. His jersey number should be retired by the NFL and the Lombardi should be renamed. I'm being serious.
Customarily that's not how it works.

Brady will retire a Patriot. Someday.

2015 was Bill's most poorly coached year all things considered.
