Inside the most dysfunctional Pats season under BB

After reading that article I‘m stunned that Bill is keeping Joe Judge, I think a lot of the players will feel the same way. If this happened during the first Super Bowl run I could see a few of the leaders of the team explaining to Bill no he can’t stay on the team.
This is a thing I've been thinking about this AM. Where were the team captains and senior players in this mess? The comms channels seemed to have broken down. Has the Darth Belichik meme taken such hold that players, even team captains, can't approach him with this? Or did they and they got blown off?

Patricia clearly didn't understand facets of the Shanahan offense. This got exposed by a player or players who had experience in the Shanahan /McVay offense (not sure who outside of Bourne had that experience). I think THIS led to Bourne "being in the dog house".
This is just so maddening.

It's annoying too because people kept on trying to DEFEND Bourne being in the doghouse by saying "oh it was because of missing practice" or some bs like that

I don't think they were used as reason as to why the qb couldn't execute but more that is is almost impossible to make an accurate evaluation positive or negative of Mac in the middle of a train wreck on offense. People cite Zappe as the exception to that but Zappe did play in a different offense with often max protection and it worked against Cleveland and Detroit but i don't think it worked against the bears and her looked limited. My take isn't mac vs zappe as i don't think either qb is the answer
He didn't look all that limited against the Bears. Some guys got into his throwing lanes, a good QB will be able to adjust to that.

I wonder if Bill still meets with team captains to get the vibe of the locker room. He used to. I would say he probably doesn’t.

K Bourne with a real OC solid: K Bourne with Fat Matt pedestrian. Bourne was one of Mac's favorite targets in 2021 I can't wait to see how Bob uses him. I think they are going to let Meyers walk I think Bourne can produce the same with a real OC who won't put him in the dog house.

Anyone who says another QB had a worse offensive coaching situation than Mac Jones after reading this story is insane. People have tried to argue that there were QBs with worse offensive coaching situations this year than Jones, but I am beginning to wonder if there is a QB with a worse offensive coaching situation ever in the history of football.
I love that we just accept every unnamed source without questioning anything

Joe Judge is still being paid by the Giants. Mystery solved.

How is he not being held accountable? He's basically been stripped of absolute personnel and staff control.

Another crap season he's gone.

I think he stays until he breaks Shula's record, no matter how badly next season goes, and Bill knows that.

Also, if there aren't Brand Spanking New OL & TE coaches (I'd also fire our WR & RB coaches) then we'll all know who still "owns" the team...

Problem for Bill is if "staying until he breaks Shula's record" means three more 8-9 seasons he's gonna be fired first. The team needs to be GOOD.

I just read this. It was worse than we ever thought. They didn't install play action passes which is why they didn't use them, didn't have answers for how defenses would defend their offense. Judge acting like he's "the guy" and pissing everyone off. Confusing the offensive line with a new system.
Judge seems like a dink - a beta trying to project as an alpha. Why are we taking him to the east-west shrine bowl

He’s listed up with the major coordinators who are “supervising.” I hope that means he’s the S-T coordinator now.

Source that Belichick told him to slide before the marker and bring up fourth down? Yeah. That’s about what I thought. No coach in his right mind is telling his QB to do that when he becomes a runner.
No coach is telling a QB to avoid getting clocked? This is exactly the type of thing Belichick would say. And precisely after getting concussed. Until Mac got his clock cleaned, I always thought he was living dangerously by never sliding.

Then the very next 2 games after he gets a shoulder to the head, he's sliding for the first time ever. That's the coach right there. Risk reward, which Belichick understands very well.

If Bill told his QB to not do what it takes to get a first down when the offense is struggling like it's been, then that's a problem.

The dysfunction continues. This is where the players need to grow a pair, stop talking to the media as anonymous and take it up with Bill if you have a problem with Judge. If Bill won't do anything, then you set up a meeting with Bob.
What good is losing your QB to a concussion? Let's as the Phins

I hope he IS fired... I just don't see it.

I trust Andrew Callahan and Karen Gureigien. I don’t think they would make up anything or report stories without fact checking and corroborating the information. So yes, I accept this story.

Should I go into the Mac Jones was calling other teams thread and see if you accepted that story based on unnamed sources without questioning anything. My guess is you did.

People only question unnamed sources when they don’t want the information to be true. Personally, I look at the people reporting the information and a lot of the time that tells me all I need to know about whether the unnamed sources are legit and trustworthy.

Besides other people in the media have alluded to the fact that things were far worse with Judge and Patricia than people knew for a while.
