PATRIOTS NEWS BoB officially back

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
You think Dennis Rodman can bail from the team for a week to go to Vegas if he's bad? No he can because he's good. That's how it works in pro sports.

Wait. I thought Mac was the only QB to lose his cool on the sideline...
One was 3x SB winner and 2x SB MVP, 2x league MVP. The other was one the the worst QB in the league.

Now it’s time to produce or go home for Mac. There isn’t Patricia to take the fall now.

I don't know about this. Alabama fans seem incredibly happy at this news.

Not really. He would have been the Bucs OC last year if Leftwich was hire by the Jaguars.

The Patriots are just a step to get back to a HC job.
Yes really. Woulda coulda shoulda about Tampa. Fact is he coached out his contract.

If Patricia is let go then the end is near.

BB never throws his people under the bus unless they pull a Mangini.
Yeah that's very true, didn't Denver seek permission to interview Patricia? Yeah who can ever forget about what mangini did..

I get it, But we all see.. in the last 2 decades when have we ever seen the patriots put out a definitive team statements like we saw about extending a coach and hiring and OC?
Well, they didn't have to. They need to keep people buying season tickets. The Pats' stock overall has been trending down since 2019. They need to allay the fears of the fans and show a path forward. They didn't do that the previous 20 seasons because they didn't need to.

Alabama fans are dancing on the roof.

This is true with a huge BUT. You need to understand the psyche of these fans. Their offense was less efficient than the one before it. They cannot blame Saban and they think recruiting rankings are the end all be all so it can't be the players. Therefore BOB was the problem in their minds. The truth is Sarkisian had arguably the most talented WR room in history of college football. This group they have now is decidedly average despite their lofty recruiting rankings. This was the right choice. The Pats couldn't afford to go with an unproven play caller.

Worst kept secret.

Now please get a wideout that can make a difference.
Now the speculation can being was the Judge/Patricia abomination just cover to hold the position for BOB the whole time? That would seem to be the only logical explanation.

I wouldn't mind Klemm as O-Line coach, at least he will have Scar's cell number.

You have to give BB props for interviewing and employing alot of his former players.

We know that Bob is more than capable OC.

Obviously he had a lot of talent around him so that's the caveat.

Alabama fans are also even more entitled and whiny than this fan base......and that says a lot

They just watched GA win 2 straight for Bama fans that's like a decade long drought and they obviously can't rip Saban. I wouldn't read anything into that.

Would be funny not gonna lie.

I was at that game vs. Redskins and saw this happen live. Underwood rounded out his route at the back of the end zone allowing the defender to get in front of him and Brady threw a pick. Brady got on Underwood's case and BOB intervened. You can read Brady's lips yelling multiple times at BOB, "No sh!t!"

This is the best possible hire for determining Mac's future. We can only hope now that BOB has leeway to fill out the offensive staff.

I think just the opposite we need BB still in full control. We don't want a scenario where BoB and BB aren't in agreement on staff and personnel.

Your exactly right !!! So we are both agreeing! I've mentioned on here, owners care about revenue 1st ,fans 2nd..

I personally feel getting kicked out of prime time games was the last straw that prompted ownership to get aggressive about fixing the offense. Being RK himself was so instrumental in the CBA, the CBS TV deals ect.. fact of the matter is post brady BB is going to be critiqued until we can become a contender again.

Things that make you go hmmm.

By DVOA, the Pats offense under BOB was really good, finishing 1st in 2009 and 2010 and 3rd in 2011. The team's troubles in those years was on defense, where they finished 14th, 23rd, and 30th.

The defense by DVOA has actually been pretty good the last few years, finishing 4th and 3rd.

To me, the troubling thing about Patricia's short tenure as virtual OC and OL coach was his arrogance: going with an inexperienced QB coach, installing a new system on his 2nd year QB, doghousing his best WR, and pissing off both tackles by swapping them. Those are just not things a first time (virtual) OC should ever have considered tampering with. Pure hubris.

And shame on BB for creating this mess with his continued cronyism and nepotism. How sad it was to watch him pander to his old-time crony Saban by not taking BOB last year -- with meanwhile McDaniel's ripping off his offensive staff. Hiring BOB this year was the best he could do with the cronyism constraint, but it is troubling nonetheless.

Playcaller BOB had Watson and Hopkins in Houston and he was fired. 2 of the best players in the NFL.

Everyone blames the OC. NY Jets fans have it down to a science. McDaniel's was blamed here and now he is being blamed in Las Vegas.

And I want to be clear. An OC who can stand his ground to the GOAT on the sideline is EXACTLY what a team should want.
