Mayo negotiations + OC interviews next week

I blame coaching.
You can’t tell me someone that physically talented can’t beast it out.
Did Big for nothing Harry beast it out??

Both Smith and Henry were decent TEs before they got here. They cost big $$ because of that. I'll never understand why the Pats spent $ like that with absolutely no plan to employ what they bought.

When you stink everywhere you go the “my players suck” bs excuse doesn’t hold any water.

Owners own, Coaches coach, Players play, Waterboys get water, and Fans argue....(shrugs)

With the Bucs scapegoating Leftwich to save Bowles, it sadly adds another suitor for the pool of OC candidates we're looking at. And if they keep Brady, that would make that position more attractive short term. Especially for a guy who seemingly likes 2-year deals like BOB.

I would like to see McCardle, Jefferson or Klemm get the job!!
All former players, all have instant credibility with current players, all deserve a chance to bring something new to the table.

Bill O'Brien is recycled old stuff. Caley....also recycled ancient history

Bucs have fired there WR coach as well. Apparently there could be as many as 5 offensive staff could be sacked.

That free agency was the most mismanaged in the last 20 years by far. In hindsight, given most of them did not pan our or were misused, the Pats panicked after Brady and the 7-10 record. They did what we used to make fun of other teams for doing - throwing money at the wall hoping it works. No real plan behind it at all

jonnu smith was never really that good. physically gifted, but he has no football awareness. he stinks and we are stuck with him again next year because bill restructured his deal. awful

I'm just bracing myself for a media break to reveal the next random, out of left field, Patriot hire - and I'm going to freak out.

??

Outside of Jonnu Smith's contract, the money was not bad at all. It's one bad contract.

Agholor's was not bad and only 2 years. You see average WRs getting 2x what Agholor did now. And Agholor came off a big season when he got that contract.

Bourne and Mills were signed at very low money comparatively.

Matthew Judon has been a hit.

The only thing holding Henry back has been the offensive coaching and some of the QB play.

It was not as bad as people make it.

Though the Jonnu Smith signing is horrendous.

All in all, you got an All-Pro level edge rusher, a starting CB and for 1 yr. your best WR, both at very short money.

You can't go talking sense around these parts, Mr.
Settle Down James White GIF by New England Patriots

I'd love to know this. I bet it's all of the above. Everything has to be on the table, right? Coaching style, offensive theory, situational roleplays, personnel, career goals, all of it.
I would think that in the case of someone like Bill O'Brien who has multiple options, the interview goes both ways, with the candidate also asking questions about the details of the position.

You'd think so, right? No different than any other profession.

So why make excuses? Gase is a bad coach. His record confirms it.

I would think a leadership role would be a top consideration. Which makes the decision to appoint Patricia/Judge even more baffling.
