Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The Raiders are a very interesting team/situation! They're pretty loaded from top to bottom offensively! It's the other side of the ball that needs to be fixed!
I think they're the most interesting situation, but aren't loaded on the OL, and have injury concerns at RB, and lots of work on defense as you say.

It isn't the same kind of "plug and play" situation Brady found himself three years ago, when he was joining a 7-9 team on the way up, stocked with a decade or so of good draft picks.

LV is still digging out from under the Mayock/Gruden era.

Yeah Tampa could be his best landing spot still with the importance of his kids.
If his kids were the main consideration, he'd be landing at FOX.

The line should be a lot better with a healthy Jensen, Wirfs, and Leverett they need to start White and Gage/Evans needs to get their heads out there ass.
If it was that simple, they would have just pulled their heads out already, right?

Face it, Evans is Tampa's Dropson.

Hopefully Gronk can come back to help as well and they actually need to hit on draft picks this year
So, you honestly think Gronk says to himself, "I want back in to that situation in Tampa"???

"I'll risk permanent injury to my back just so I can go 8-9 and lose in the first round of the playoffs"????

"Hey, we should suck less than Atlanta, New Orleans and Carolina, right"???

You do know Brady let the lease on his house go months ago, right?

IMO, it's over for Brady in Tampa, he's already moved on, his post-game presser was more evidence of that.

I can't see why he'd want another go of it at Tampa after what he just went through.

I'm reasonably sure I already said this a couple weeks ago but ultimately I want him to play in a spot where it is enjoyable to watch him play offense. Because this year was just brutal to watch on every single damn drive. I want to be entertained, that's the whole point of sports. If that's not possible then he should retire. But I would argue that it is possible.

At Fox he'd be traveling more
True, but nowhere near the mental focus is needed, nor practice time, nor injury risk. He could do most of the prep work from home, and bring the kids with him for the games if he wants to include them. He's being paid more than enough to be able to travel via private jet and put his kids up with him wherever he goes. Chances are he had all that written into his contract. He's building himself a mansion in Miami right across the bay from his kids and his ex. He'd be with them a lot more if he lives there rather than in Tampa or LV.

I don't think such a spot exists. He lacks mobility. He is only rarely going to move the ball forward on his own. He is bothered by pressure up the middle (announcers last weekend called it Brady's "krypotonite") so he needs a set of stud pass protectors on the OL. He's shown he makes his own mistakes so a pass-heavy offense isn't really the way to go, so those stud OLs need to be stud run blockers too. You need some decent RBs too, hopefully at least one who can catch out of the backfield, and TE as well. Brady tends to freeze out WRs, so it's a challenge to find a set he'll throw the ball to. They'll also need to be willing to take a b!tching out by a man older than their fathers. He'll also want $25M or better, so you can't just go buy everything you need on free agency. What you'll really need is what Tampa had three years ago, a bunch of talented players mostly on their rookie or second contracts, just a couple pieces away from being able to make a championship run. That ain't Tampa now, and it ain't LV now. Most of the teams now entering their playoff windows already have young QBs signed on good contracts, it's hard to see a team that can provide everything Brady wants and needs.

Ya that's true. If he goes to LV he has Adams who doesn't miss games and might be the best total WR in the NFL. Waller and Renfrow miss alot of games though but you could see how they could get some pieces and hopefully protect him and go back to 30pts/game. The division isn't an issue but KC would still be king IMO. They are the new NE.

They Chiefs in a sense are the new Pats with less rings! It will be very laughable if Kermit The Frog and company doesn't win his 2nd ring this year! Then again it definitely wouldn't surprise me if the Bengals/Bills winner knocks them out in the AFCCG

If Mahomes does not win the Super Bowl this season then he’ll only have one championship in the time Brady won his third.

Yes I keep track of these useless measuring sticks.

Ok...

This may seem strange to people here, but I didn't get to watch the game after the Brady pick and the Dallas score following that (which seems like it was a good time to have to do other things, coincidentally). So, could someone tell me how the rest of the game actually went, rather than me just relying on the box score?

The Bucs defense literally couldn't make a single stop except the Cowboys kicker missed 4 straight extra points which was hilarious.

Meanwhile the Bucs offense did NOTHING until they got to pad some stats while down 24 to make it look more respectable and in fact Evans dropped an easy TD in the final 2 minutes which would have made the game a 31-21 final score.

Yeah pretty much what VectorPrime said.
It literally went the way most of the Bucs game had gone all season.

No offense until late in the game trying to making a miraculous comeback. The OL was sieve which was expected with Goedeke in and Smith. There was a slight chance for a comeback but the bad defense squished any hope of that, and the bomb thrown to Evans shoud have been an easy catch (for Davante Adams) was dropped.

He has the passing yards and MVP curse. Nobody who has won the MVP has won the super bowl in like 30+ years and no passing yards leader has ever won it either. Brady failed in all years he either led the league in yards or won MVP.

So many things went wrong but one of the unexpected things was Evans. With his 14 TDs last year, he was deservedly a probowler. I was expecting him to take it to the next level and be an all-pro instead of being a choke artist.

I agree Gronk has no interest with Tampa. But Vegas is more his style. He'll be salivating at the chance to promote himself on a worldwide stage. Vegas, party, and Gronk goes well together.

Good to hear about the presser. I hope Brady is done in Tampa, I almost rather seen him retire. The talent is on the downswing. Bowles will keep on punting on the opposing teams 37 yard line so that his defense doesn't risk having to defend a shorter field(he'll sacrifice points for the sake of making his defense look better).

Boston media are a bunch of clowns

Basically if the offense showed life he would’ve returned

Yeah Mahomes can be the new Rodgers and have all those passing yards, TDs, and MVPs. Just stay away from the SBs. With Allen and Burrow in their prime, they can combine to coke-block him from the SB. I'll throw in Brady with Vegas for 2023.

I'd include Herbert but he plays for the Chargers.

I can't think of a current member of the media who is not a clown.

They're all willing to report their own personal speculation as if it were fact.

Basically if the offense showed life he would’ve returned
What, Gronk lost his tongue?

If he was willing to come back as it is being alleged, why didn't it happen?

It would have been a morale boost just to have him in the building regardless of him being on the 45 man roster.

I call BS.

I think Gronk wanted to return but wanted the Bucs to show him the money. Bucs put their wallet away.

Gronk could have been a blocking TE the 1st month while he gets in football shape and really could have helped at the end.

It all makes sense, till you think about the Raiders side of things.

The man had visibly slowed down his last season playing, he only played 12 games that season, and now he's a year older.

Do you want to sign an older, injury-prone player who is all about self-promotion and the party life, especially if your team is in Las Vegas?

Maybe you have to to get Brady, but IMO it could easily turn out to be a wasted roster spot and salary cap hit.

Mark Davis will do literally anything Brady says and Josh might be coaching for his job next season. They’ll do what he wants.
