Yes, he lost his running talent because he showed up 30 pounds over weight and completely out of shape. He wasn't helped either by the predictable first down runs into a wall of waiting defenders. But Fournette sabotaged his season by not taking care of himself in the offseason.
Good grief, Lenny has always been big. He rushed for 127 yards on opening day against these same Cowboys.

You don't bother to look for traps (facts) before you post do you?

The funniest part of this ^ Brady conversation, is we have a great sample size from 2020 that proves my balance theory is unequivocally true.

Entering the bye week 13 in 2020, the Bucs had lost 3 of their last 4 games... in each of those losses they rushed for 75 yards or less.

In one really bad loss against the Saints, the Bucs set a single game record (league... not team record) for fewest rushing attempts (4) in a single game... they got slaughtered 38-3.

Their one win in those four weeks by the way... over 210 yards rushing. That was the game immediately after the Saints debacle where even reporters were asking why they weren't running... even a little.

Well flash forward to after the bye week. Somebody obviously put two and two together. The Bucs win their final four games by incorporating the run more. In the playoffs the Bucs lead the postseason in rushing attempts, attempts per game and Leonard Fournette earns the moniker "playoff Lenny."

The person who fixed that was Arians.

How do we know?

Because the moment Tom has him fired, the Bucs have a season where they rank dead last in rushing attempts, and instead of fixing it for the playoffs... they go into Dallas and run the ball 12 times and lose.

If you let your QB be the offensive coordinator along with the GM, then who is going to hold him accountable?

Nobody...

A QB is always going to want to pass the ball... always.

Especially one who is trying to set every passing record in the book.

Fanboys hate to admit their sacred cows are human.

Yeah I posted a thread on that and people laughed at me. SB1 said that Lenny was going to be just fine lol and he's always out of shape coming into the season.

You do realize you are making a strong case for Mac Jones being given the benefit of the doubt for horrible coaching, poor o-line, etc because he isn’t the GOAT who should be able to overcome those things far easier than a second year QB? So if you don’t think Brady can overcome horrible coaching, injuries, and poor play around him; you should feel Jones should get a complete free pass because even an elite QB couldn’t perform under similar conditions.
Brady overcame it to a degree but there's only so much you can do at age 45 when everything around you is crumbling to the ground. He literally saved the team from a 5-12 finish with 3 last second comeback wins (Brady also had game-winning dives in 5 of the team's 8 wins). Brady was tremendous in 2020 and 2021, A+ seasons, which is even more miraculous at ages 43 & 44.

The team had a precipitous decline this season for a variety of reasons that I don't think anyone saw coming. 8-9 is a shocking record for a Brady season. The most obvious problem was the head coach whose incompetence was a major obstacle for the team. The complete lack of a running game handicapped the offense for the entire season. Otherwise injuries and an aging roster hampered the offense as well. Defensively they were mediocre and even had problems with some extremely limited quarterbacks/offenses. Brady wasn't a main problem for the team.

It's interesting how Mac is afforded the excuse of "horrible coaching" when he's got the GOAT head coach. I remember hearing how Bill was going to have more influence and involvement with the offense this season because of the inexperience of Patricia? What happened? Bill gave Patricia the autonomy to run the offense and it didn't work out? Or Bill was involved and he isn't exactly the genius everyone says he is? Either way, it's Bill's fault, which is an understated observation.

I saw a decline in Mac's play (which really started week 14 of last season). He looked sped up and confused at times. He wasn't always seeing the field well or reading through his progressions efficiently. Inaccurate at times and prone to mistakes when passing downfield. Plus he lost his composure on several occasions and he had that bizarre exit from the Baltimore game (with that extremely over the top reaction to an ankle sprain).

Can we say Mac overcame anything this season? 84.8 passer rating, 14 TDs, 11 INTs, 214 Y/G, 6-8 record with 0 comebacks or game-winning drives. I don't think so.

No, I was using your twisted and screwed up logic against you. You'll never admit that anything is Brady's fault. He's god-like in your book and if anything goes wrong it's someone else's fault. Where was Brady in the first 3 quarters in his playoff game against the Rams? Where was he in quarters 1-4 against the Cowboys?

Fact - Brady won the SB in 2020 with Fournette, Evans, Gronk, Brown, Wirfs, and Godwin, to name a few.

Fact - Brady did not win the SB in 2021 and did not have Godwin or Brown down the stretch. What happened here? All I heard was that the Bucs were poised to run it back because they were the first team since the Raiders of 83 to return all their starters.

Fact - Brady did not win the SB in 2022 and was without Brown and Gronk.

You do the math.

YOur hero Brady failed to win 3 in a row because of lol, a washed up Peyton in 2015 and Nick Foles in 2017. At least Mahomes lost to a top 3 all time QB in the super bowl.

And I've pointed out before how Brady during the regular seasons from 2020-2022 has been lighting up bad teams (mostly in 2020 and 2021) and padding his stats. His numbers against good teams outside of the super bowl run in 2020 has been nowhere near as good. THis year he looked bad against good teams and bad teams.
I've given up on reading any post of yours that is more than a few sentences.

Here's your argument in a nutshell:

Unless Brady wins the Super Bowl, his season was a failure and he sucked.
If he wins the Super Bowl then it was because of his teammates, cheating or luck.

There's just no point is arguing against complete nonsense.

Are you saying Fournette was a good running back this season? If so then you're deranged. He was a fat load, heavier than the two previous seasons, and he was the WORST starting RB in the NFL. Do you want me to list all of the facts that prove it? Because I can do it if you're too lazy to figure it out on your own.

2020 Brady (age 43):
102.2 passer rating
4633 yards
40 TDs
12 INTs
3 road playoff wins
Super Bowl champion
Super Bowl MVP

2021 Brady (age 44):
102.1 passer rating
5316 yards (NFL leader & 3rd most all-time)
43 TDs (NFL leader)
12 INTs
Division title
Tied for best record in the NFL
Pro Bowl
2nd team All Pro
2nd in NFL MVP

Whatever else was going on for the Bucs in 2020 and 2021, Brady was totally brilliant both seasons. That's a fact.

This is the type of sh*t post that @Ian has asked you to stop. Wasn't Brady every Pats fans hero in 2015 & 2017? Your lol is because you were rooting for Peyton and Foles?

Of course, as Mahomes #1 fanboi, you would excuse his perf., while you constantly crap on Brady in a Patriots forum.

You're a problem poster, troll and habitual offender. What would be the results of a poll on you being voted off the island: >90% would vote you out.

Belichick was the head coach who thought Matt Patricia could run an offense and then the Pats did little all year to fix the offense to put Jones in a position to be successful other than the first half of the last game of the season. If Belichick wasn't Belichick, he would be unemployed today for his coaching job last year. Virtually any other head coach would have been fired for how he ran the offense and much of the rest of the team last year.

But keep spinning yourself into circles how Brady has an excuse for his declined play this year because of the OC, the o-line, and poor play by the receivers and Mac Jones should have overcome those same issues because he had Belichick and he is a worse QB than Brady.

So now you run to the mods...the same thing you accused me of doing for the last 3 years.

You can't be serious. Lol

Again, you troll every single thread w/ your same crap over, and over and over again. People are sick of your sh*t. They've told you to STFU. Ian has asked you to stop. You just won't listen. Your schtick is stale, old, boring and just useless anymore. Move on to the Colts on Chefs forum where you belong. Your time here has expired. You're past due. Finito. Done. I'm making it a personal point to get you banned from the forum if you don't stop your sh*t.

Yes, and Ian has asked those people who don't like my posts to put me on ignore, which you refuse to do. You are just as guilty in interacting with me. Personally I think you like arguing with me and/or don't have the guts to put me on ignore. Isn't that what you told PatsWSB47 to do? You scolded him for it and are now doing the exact same thing.

Just go away

You think Jones is a better QB than Brady? Really?

He is arguing that Brady gets the benefit of the doubt that his fall off in play is due to coaching and players around him because he is the GOAT and Jones doesn't get that benefit of the doubt because he has Belichick and he is a far lesser QB than Brady.

TB was definitely NOT acting as offensive coordinator, at any point, at least until Tampa was way behind and needed to run the no huddle. THEN their offense tended to work, not surprisingly.

Exactly. Bowles dictated the conservative approach. Leftwich called the plays. Brady only took over completely when they went no huddle which not coincidently was the only time the offense looked good.

I read your post to say that Mac was a better QB than Brady. Nvm.
